Cairns Woodduck Backpackers Reviews

Staff very clicky and more interested in their own conversations than helping guests, also not very professional - giving massages on floor behind reception desk!! People in room had obviously been there a long time therefore rooms looked lived in and they always left the door open therefore security wasn't very good if you were worried about your stuff! Everyone seemed trustworthy but still...you never know. Didn't exactly need a key to get in and out due to this either.

Though not the most glamorous of hostels, it has been one of the friendliest and hard working hostels to keep its guests happy in a while. Pool, free WiFi, breakfast, vouchers for cheap dinner, free pizza on wed., right in the heart of Cairns. I would easily return to the Woodduck.

Clean but very hot rooms, the fans didn't help much. Super friendly staff and helpful staff! Close to the city centre. Loved the free wifi. Would defintately stay here again!

Great people, good value!

Woodduck has a great atmosphere, helpful staff and is in a good location. Facilities are basic and rooms can get quite hot, however if you're not too picky it's a cool place to stay.
