Caitin's is run by a lovely warm& friendly host. Free tea& biscuits at the in-house bar on arrival were just what we needed prior to moving onto the hard stuff! If you are in Kerry for the scenary, local hospitality or your v.own cosy pub, this is for you. Caitins is still a work in progress, but when the construction works are finished, this undoubtedly will be the best hostel in the region. For this price, you wont find a cleaner and more comfortable room in the whole of Europe! Staff were friendly and helpful. HOwever,in terms of health and safety this hostel should not be open because the accommodation is still being built.The kitchen was incomplete and didn't have a proper floor.There were wires coming out of the walls because the electrics werent finished.There were no cupboards to keep food and there was water on the floor where it was coming through the walls. There was water dripping onto you as you climbed the stairs to the rooms.The rooms were damp.A rip offStaff were friendly and helpful. The hostel is in great location, just by the ocean. the owner is very friendly, we had a light breakast in the morning provided. Although the hostel is still being built, bathroom and bedrooms are in good condition and you have a view over the ocean. The place is located in a very peacefull place but there is a bigger town/village nearby.
