The staff in this hostel was really inpolite and even rude sometimes and it seemed that they didn't want to help you in any way. The cleanliness in the hostel was otherwise ok but there were some kind of animals (bedbugs?) in the beds, because me and one other girl got big red bites all over our skin during the stay in Calafate hostel! In general this hostel was very big and that's why it's not the best option for someone who is travelling alone and wants to have a friendly atmosphere.

A bit of a hands off attitude, and the floor of the room needed sweeping, but staff were very helpful and location cannot be beat.

The room was good and the building was unique as it is wooden. Didn't find it was noisy others may have remarked. The wifi connection was slow at times but at least it was free. Breakfast wasn't the greatest but enough to get going in the morning (corn flakes & milk, toast and instant juice). I felt like the staff were fairly impersonal and were not as interested in the non-native Spanish speaking guests. That said, it's not a bad place – just make sure to come in with the right expectations.

One person of the staff was nice, other not. I was not allowed to make a call and she was not helpfull at all. If you are looking for a youth, chill hostel: don´t go here. Big kitchen put kitchen stuff was poor. Location was good.

The place is old and worn. Only one key per room so if one of the randoms in the dorm locks the door and doesn´t return the key you are locked out.

Good place to stay for a few days in El Calafate doing excursions. Very clean and quiet.

Nice wooden building, good location. Staff were friendly and helpful with tours. Breakfast was the usual cornflakes, bread, tea, coffee. I didnt like that you had to pay for the internet as every hostel I have stayed in it has been free. The kitchen could have also had more equipment. Otherwise a nice place

Big hostel with an impersonal feel to it. No lockers in the room, and no lock in the mixed dorm bathroom ensuite. The old wooden floors do make quite a bit of noise when trying to sleep as well. Staff are efficient but also impersonal. Good location as far as the bus terminal, banks and restaurants go. The supermercado isn't too far either. WIFI a bit slow and unreliable.

Spent 3 nights here. The hostel is well situated, a walk distance from the bus terminal, main street and lake. Stuff speaks English, very friendly, full of offers and solutions and always available. Guests of El Calafate Hostel, many were around my age (39). Great showers, nice breakfast. Missed a garbage can in the dorm. Slow internet, but this is valid for many places in south Patagonia... Still good. Drow backs was badly equipped and 1/2 broken kitchen, but still produced good food. 75%.

I have been to Calafate hostel 4 times and the main reason is their location. They offer a lot of tours in the region which is good when you don´t have so much time to book by yourself in an agency. The only problem is that some times is too crowded and people do a lot of noise even during the night. The staff could ask some guests to party in the correct places and not close to the rooms.

I had a single room which was very clean, The WIFI in my room was good. - The View was ok. I came to use the kitchen - the olace was left in a realy dirty mess. I had to wash Pans and Utensils before I could use them, that was just to cook soup. The Common area upstairs is quite large. Emphasis is olaced on the Restuarant which was nicely laid out - Chef very friendly. Staff were ok but not really overly friendly they just done thier job that is all
