This is one of the best hostels I\'ve ever stayed in. Clean, great facilities, helpful and pleasant staff, good breakfast, etc. Very impressive. And this last thing isn\'t that important, but they give you two pillows! It was the most comfortable bed I\'ve had in a hostel.

Great location, right in the centre of Edinburgh. Nice atmosphere. The common room is really cool, with board games lying around, lots of sofas, a great bar and the possibility to borrow a laptop in exchange for your ID. I recommend it!

Excellent hostel, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Perfect location within minutes walk of most city center attractions, very relaxed atmosphere and superb facilities. We would recommend to anybody planning a trip to Edinburgh.

I really enjoyed my stay. They served breakfast all morning, which is great when you're on vacation and want to sleep-in a little. The free wi-fi was appreciated and the extra security with laptop storage was great.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at. The building is amazing, decorwise and locationwise. Very clean. The staff are friendly and really helpful. At the front desk you could buy/rent all kinds of useful things like towels, power adaptors, batteries, etc. Beds were fresh and extremely comfortable. There was a huge common room where people would always be hanging out playing pool, wii, board games, and other things. My friend and I agreed that we would love to move in there permanently.

Très bonne localisation. L\'auberge est sympa, grande et les chambres (6 pers) relativement spacieuses vis-à-vis d\'autres AJ dans lesquelles j\'ai séjourné. Avis positif.

I've stayed at a number of hostels throughout the UK and this has been the best by far. There are so many reasons why; its the late checkout and early check in, its the breakfast which spans from 6am-12pm AND has FRUIT, its the beautiful paintings and murels throughout the hostel and its quirky character. Love it, love, it love it, incredible value for money and excellent place for meeting other people.

Fantastic staff, just so helpful and cheerful, and good facilities. I was there on a weekend, so the bathrooms could get a bit busy in the mornings, but it was never ridiculously crowded. The place is quiet, kitchen and common areas are good and there is a bean bag cinema and free internet (and computer terminals!) is just such good value for money. Would stay again!

It would be lovely if there was a changing room before getting into the shower.

My friend and I had a great experience at Caledonian Backpackers. Breakfast is included and is served from 6-12. It's basic (toast w toppings, cereal, granola, yogurt, fruit, coffee/tea) but has plenty of variety and since it's buffet style you can have as much as you want. There's a great bean bag lounge area that was quiet and comfy. Main room had everything. Lots of free computers to use. We got lucky with roommates, they were all lovely. Staff was friendly as well. I highly recommend it!

Best hostel experience and location I have ever been to! I loved it so much I honestly didn´t want to leave like so many of the amazingly nice international people who were on extended stay. Go before September because unfortunately it will be shutting down!

The only major issue was the cranked up heat in the room. Great character and close walking distance to the Castle/Grassmarket area.

We loved our time in Edinburgh, and staying at Caledonian contributed largely to this! The price is excellent for the facilities provided. The hostel itself is very large. It contains an excellent movie room with projector screen, games room, large bar area, chill out area, and huge kitchen. Breakfast was til 12 and included a large selection food. Plenty of showers and bathrooms, and the dorms have large spaces to store luggage. Great atmosphere too and easy to socialise!

This place was so fun to be in! The only part I didn't like was the funny smell in our room. It was not pleasant...
