One of the nicest staff EVER! No matter the time they are always happy to help! Location is quite close to many pubs/clubs and since Edinburgh is quite small you can walk everywhere by foot. Just gave a "Good" since it's not close to the train station but it's well served by buses. As for the facilities, also face it a good since there are not a lot of electricity plugs in the room. Apart from that, it's fr sure the best or second best hostel in Edinburgh and a wonderful choice!

Possibly the best hostel I've ever stayed at! This place is massive and has a really cool bar (with cheap drinks) and huge rooms (even the sheets smelled of fresh washing powder). They have a sound proof chill out room, a cinema, massive kitchen, free use of the wii and absolutely amazing staff. You'd be crazy to stay anywhere else! We were even given a free chocolate on arrival! This hostel is 10 x better than my house!!!

We just missed a room with bathroom inside. Nevertheless, the best hostel we've stayed ever! :D

Always an enjoyable stay. Fantastic atmosphere and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! Look forward to my next stay ...

it's expensive, staff aren't polite is too dirty, toilets needs to be clean often and properly

The best hostel I've stayed in. Great atmosphere, a bar, fun hangout, cool people, and excellent comfortable beds make your stay a luxury for cheap. Great location to in the prime of Scotland.

Great Hostel, close to all the main attractions and commercial streets. Staff were very friendly. Loved the cool artwork on the walls and the bean bag cinema room. One negative would be the lockers which could be easily opened even if you had a lock on.

Nice, friendy, easy to find, secure!, warm, free internet, good common room with games, bar,.... shortly said: perfect for that price!

it was a great place to stay, good staff a little far from the Castle (10 minutes) but the walking is great so there was no problem at all, if i return some day i hope i can go back there for sure, quite cozy beds and clean rooms.... and if you don't want to drink something in it's bar, you can go to the Pub besides the hostel!!!!!....

This is by far one of the most amazing hostels I have stayed at in 4 months of travelling Europe. Staff is so amazing and helpful, the place is accessible and has so much character, it's convenient, clean, so fun, and the beds are super comfy. I would absolutely recommend this place to everybody--solo travellers and groups. The bar is fabulous and it's just a fantastic place to meet people in an unbelievable city. LOVE.

There were some great things at this hostel. Free laptop rental was great, as well as the excellent movie room for the long winter evenings! But the showers were terrible! They had pressure and heat which is good,, but they are just a tiny little cubicle with no lock which opens straight into the big bathroom. There is nowhere to hang your clothes or put your belongings while you shower. Then after the shower you either have to dress in the tiny wet cubicle, or in the public bathroom.

i stayed in a 4 bed mixed room for just one night and everything was great. although i do feel it'd have been so much convenient and comfortable if the beds had been curtained off.

This has been by far my favorite hostel that I have stayed in during 3 months of travel in Europe. The staff is excellent. The entire place is geared toward everything a backpacker would need without being a "party" place. The rooms are clean and quiet; the comforters the best and coziest I have come across. I would choose this place over and over again and would recommend it to anyone.

The hostel had a friendly and safe atmosphere, inviting (as a good hostel should) contact with people you have never met before. Service was excellent, my receptionist was a sunny, cheery dream of a girl with smiles for everyone making you instantly feel at home. Location wise I guess it depends what your priorities are. For shopping and going out for dinner the location is ideal, for going out (at least at the spots I knew) perhaps a little less. The showers and toilets were exceptionally clean

it was a good hostel but the showers were fairly small, and were often full. other then that it was a good hostel, amazing to have vegimite for breakfast as well

Great hostel! Comfy, cool atmosphere with the bar / common area, cinema, kitchen, clean cosy rooms - everything you could want in a hostel. Only complaint is that it was SO HOT! in the bedrooms overnight, not comfortable at all. Apart from that, the best hostel I've stayed in.
