Great place to stay!

Quelle belle surprise de tomber sur une auberge comme celle la. Située en plein milieu de la ville, on y trouve une ambiance chaleureuse et conviviale. Les chambres sont propres, le bar de l'hostel réunit une bonne partie des habitants. Bref, je recommande vivement. A noter simplement, mon regret de ne pas avoir trouvé davantage de jolies filles. J'étais très optimiste en arrivant ici mais je suis un peu déçu à ce niveau la.

Good vibe about the hostel. Great staff that help you with your stay in Edinburgh. Facilities are fantastic except for wi-fi connection in some rooms. Laundry is cheap as chips in good machine and dryer. Able to wash entire bag at once! Breakfast is a good continental, the earlier you eat the more choice you will have as it is a big hostel. Swipe cards into rooms and lockers which require a big padlock provide security. Only negative was the room had a bit of a smell but not a deal breaker.

Loved the atmosphere and all the things to do!!! Would defs recomend it!!

Loved the atmosphere of the place. it catered for people that wanted to chill out, budget and mingle. Very much enjoyed my stay there, the staff were really helpful and was a great place to meet people.

A good location, but not a lot of seating places in the public areas, and the staff didn't appear to know the city so well.

This is what hostels should be like. All around great effort by staff. Great environment. Easy to meet people etc. Well done.

Pretty much a normal hostel. Nothing special. The bed in my room was very uncomfortable and didn't even fit on the frame a piece of the mattress was hanging off the bed all the time and could not be fixed. The fact they have a bar just for people staying at the hostel is really nice just wish the prices were a little less seeing as we are paying to stay there as well as buying drinks. Next time I will probably look at other hostels in Edinburgh before staying here again.

Very pleasant ambien and great location. Rooms are clean as well as bathroom. The common areas is good too, free internet access, pool, nice bar (good coffe..) definitely a place worth spending some time before going out to meet new people.

Caledonian backpackers was a wonderful place to stay. A bit of a walk from the main tourist parts of Edinburgh though. Although this did allow us to see all of Prince's street. The bar in the hostel was reasonably priced and provided a wonderful social atmosphere. I would return here if I could not find a place more centrally located.

Everything was great.

Very nice place, location was fine and near enough to the action in Edinburgh. Staff (especially the girl on the front desk) were all very nice and helpful! Simple but good breakfast, only slight negative was that the showers and toilets could probably do with an overhaul sometime soon as they felt a little dated and out of charachter with the otherwise excellent standards! Happy to recommend, would visit again!

Great atmosphere, comfortable and quiet rooms, and free day storage for your luggage (even after you check out). Location was good- an easy 5-10 minutes from both the train station and the castle.

This is a great hostel, one of the best I have stayed at. The location is decent and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are lots of different activities going on in the hostel, so it is easy to meet people. The rooms are quiet and the large lockers are very useful. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again.

really..all was fine..lots of fun, cheap place to crash for the night, clean enough for a hostel...there was a room with 20 beds and mine was next to the window that was open only about 2inches,,(4cm) any way it was mid october, soo was a little cold..just bad luck and with that many peopl in the room,,i guess it was nice to have wee bit of fresh (but cold ) air.. ...any way,,perfectly fine hostel.
