Clean room, great staff, specially Renata, they are always willing to help you. The only bad thing was the location, to far away from town, supermarkets and nightlife. They have a bus to take u to town but still not enough.

The bar and common area were great with a great atmosphere. The room was old and dirty and no net for the windows to avoid insects. The kitchen area were decent. No boxes for valuables either. We had a pretty nice stay even though the facilities are not great.
It's cheap so you have to accept some disadvantages. There are no lockers in the room. You have to walk 20-25 min to CBD. No good supermarket nearby. No BYO! Breakfast 3$. And the worst: There is a big lack of forks in the kitchens. In 2 kitchens I just saw about 5 forks for everyone. Consequently if you want to eart dinner with a fork you have to be really fast. But there are also some good things: Free WiFi. Free shuttles to town. Free airport shuttle (But only at 9.50 am and 12pm!)
Excellent hostel! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cairns! Great staff, very helpful and friendly. First, they upgraded us to a private room at no charge for 3-4 nights just for kicks. On last night, our flight left at 5 AM, so instead of making us pay for a full night for 3 hours of sleep, they told us just to chill in the common area for free all night til was walked 5km to airport at 3 AM. Great atmosphere. Great bar. Great kitchen. Night watch security. Clean. Best hostel on our trip so far!
Very homely, a little bit out of the way but regular buses ran to the center

The hostel was nice but the rooms where tiny and the downstairs kitchen was quite dirty. There was not much room to store dry food, this ment a lot of people kept food in their rooms. Far out of the city centre and the bus runs every hour - 20min walk to centre.
Some staff members were new and not as well as informed. Well equipped kitchen. Fun events every night with yummy food (costs money). Staff helps with booing upcoming trips, short walk to esplanade, decent walk to city. Didn't feel very clean, fans and air conditioner not in best condition.
Great place with great staff. The rooms had great beds and air conditioning and fans. They really help you with all your bookings too ( though other places will be way more discounted if you go to town). There are fairly frequent trips to town though the last there/back is at 9:30 so you have to take a cab back if you are out too late.
