Cambie Hostel - Seymour Reviews

Location of this hostel is great. The first room I was put in was really dirty mainly because of the people in the room. I requested another room and got one without problems. Much cleaner room but the matrass had it best time a few years ago. The whole hostel could do with a big referb. One toilet broken toilets and bathroom could be much cleaner and shower one shower was not working how it should.

great place, great staff, definately a class above HI and same sun, will stay there next time i'm in van for sure

had a room on the first floor just above the bar..... was a little bit noisy..... but good central location

no heating in room (2nd floor ) in december, mice running around room ,poor facilities including tv room and kitchen that only hold 5 to 6 people and in general was just dirty and run down

I enjoyed staying here, the location is great close to everything, the place is comfortable and clean, a little noisy outside but hey this isn't a country retreat. Definetly stay here again :)

Basic maintenance upkeep would go a long ways -- light fixtures secured to the ceiling, as opposed to dangling from wires and broken drywall, working shower knobs, etc.

Living in room 108 is terrible. It is so noisy that I can not fall asleep whole night. Outside of the window is a machine in next building that does not stop whole night. Using earplug, closing window, all useless. Besides, the heater is too hot.

it's obviously good that u can meet various ppl around the world by living in a hostel! the staff is really nice & helpful here! except the wall is thin like a cigarette paper, everything's fine. noises from parties, mopping, doors and talking sometimes. toilets r clean except some insects occasionally in rooms. all in all, i had fun here!

Nice for partying people ONLY. If you want to just get some rest and sleep, it was downright the hostel from hell. Our room was right above the bar below, the music was so extremely loud, that our bunk bed was vibrating from the bass. There was no chance to sleep until 2am. It was a total bust for us, since we had a seminar the next day starting at 8:30 am. Lose the bar below the hostel, and it would have been lovely....

A real and bigger Common room is missing. It´s too cold in the kitchen and in the very small "Common Room". So there should be a possibility to drink your own stuff, meet people AND sit together comfortably. Unfortunately the beds are a bid old and you feel the steel through them. Cleanliness is everywhere really good except the rooms. Maybe you should clean the bed basics and also clean the rooms, when people stay longer. The staff was except one really nice really, average.

Hostel definitely needs a renovation, as rooms and bathrooms don't look too good, anymore. Did not feel very comfortable in our room. And do avoid staying there on Saturday nights, as there is usually a party going on in the pub which is in the basement - loud music and no sleep until 2am. However, locations is very convenient and staff was also quite helpful.

perfect location, all centre in a walking distance, very ffriendy and helpful staff, clean rooms and common areas, delicious big muffins for breakfest. rooms are just little bit basic

A good hostel, clean rooms, bathrooms are ok. Just don't bring a car because there is no place to park.

Perfectly located in the center of the city. But the cleanliness could be improved.

It was very very loud in the night because of the bar in the first floor. The mattress was unacceptable and we could feel every clip. It was terrible. For breakfast we got coffee, tee and a not good muffin. I don't would recommend to stay there.

Good location, free muffins in the morning. Furniture and stairs outdated, bathroom all wet. Stayed at better locations!

The hostel was ok but at soon as you step on those first steps there is a strong smell of urine. We were there for a week and this never changed. Also we had a mouse problem in the room and the rooms werent that clean. Apart from that the location is great and the facilities were also pretty good. Just feel they could be a bit cleaner and the rooms were also very small.
