Well this is my 3rd time to Peru and to the camiri and I just love it! Marcel is always working to make sure your happy and making sure you have the best jungle tour experience ever which he also arranges for you! And I love that I have met lifelong friends with each stay! The only bad part of this hostel is having to leave to go home!

Best thing about that place is definitely real travelers atmosphere. Second thing - good informations about area and trips. Place? Exactly what you can expect from floating hostel for real trevelers! Location is very good - close to bars and grocery shops. In Iquitos be aware of "travel agencies" most will try to rip you off! Ask Hostel owner/manager or other travelers that WERE on trip, where and with who is worth to go.

I had read all of the bad reviews about this place, but decided to stay here anyway and it was good. Not the nicest place I have ever stayed, but I am glad that I stayed there. The owner Marcel is nice and helpful.

Camiri floating hostel is a really unique hostel with a cool vibe. The owner Marcel is a real character and good to have a chat with. The view from the bar and rooms are both excellent. Room we stayed in was really simple and prett clean, definitely not luxurious but comfortable enough. Make sure you lock the door at all times as people are constantly wandering down to the bar and around the rooms, and staff members are not always around.

sweet spot on the river, with an excellent location walking distance from everything downtown. The hostel has a laid back vibe, perfect for travelers with a sense for adventure. hammocks, music, cool types. the staff was friendly and helped organized a sweet camping expedition into pacaya samira. i would highly recommend this place if you wanna experience something more authentic, and not another bland and generic hostel.

Shocking! I'm not one to complain about petty things such as leaches in the 'shower', filth, leaking roof, no water, empty bars going til 6am; these things occasionally happen! What annoyed me were having to keep my valuables on me 24/7(no lockers + no security), being ripped off (£13 to be escorted to a market very easy to walk to), having to agree with the owner all the time so he didn't verbally attack me, no breakfast as advertised same $ DON'T STAY HERE

Camiri is an amazing place to stay away of the hectic and a bit crazy mototaxi city Iquitos although the city is reachable within a few minutes walking distance where you have a lot of shop and restaurant possibilities. It's a perfect chilling place with its hammocks and a beautiful view over the river. The owner Marcel is very helpul, has a great knowledge about all the local stuff and can organise everything you want including jungle trips and visits with shamans. Would stay there again!

IIt is amazing how epic can be living at Camiri, from amazing peaceful red sunrises to the strength of the winds of this season that you can really FEEL at the floating houses...LOL...sometimes you can ask MArcel for moving your house for a rvier hosue trip...SICK! Was the highlight of my Peru`s trip...it is having nature so close to you....and the city only a few meters upstairs...great character and staff, special thanks to the jungle tour guides, extreme adventure recommended!!

The hostel has NO real security at all, so be careful and take all your stuff with you (!!). The owner is friendly but then also agressive and disrespectful, he looks as if he is drinking and smoking all day. The rooms don't look at all like the pictures (too dirty and messy), there is no running water, you WILL wake up at 5am because of the loud fishing boats and the tour guide we got didn't speak the entire trip. Wouldn't recommend it if you plan having a good time in Iquitos.

Friendly and helpful staff was definitely a plus. Loved the chill atmosphere and lounging in hammocks overlooking the river. The hostel itself is rustic but lovely, everything worked fine, water etc. I'd recommend too their jungle expeditions, which was outstanding AND Marcelo offered us a discount for being a group. We will miss you camiri!!!xoxo

Really enjoyed our time at Camiri. Marcel was fabulous and very helpful. We did the jungle trip which was amazing, the guide Wilver was great and saw lots of amazing animals in the wild....a lot of other places were offering the animals but in captivity. Great atmosphere over looking the amazon.

The floating hostel is really floating on the last day and everything was falling apart and the toilet and shower was horribly dirty. The reception was not always around.

Awesome place. Everything was set up perfectly to stay there. There was no running water but it didn't matter, the amazon river was right there. I would gladly stay at Camiri again. If you choose to stay here remember that you're paying for the atmosphere, hammocks, staying ON THE AMAZON, and an owner who can give you some great recommendations for all of Iquitos and the surrounding area.

Was an OK place to stay, things weren't working when I stayed. No running water, no shower and questionable toilet situation. But it was an OK stay.

What an amazing and interesting place to stay. Really great to stay in a place in the city of Iquitos. It was amazing to be able to walk down a set of stairs and relax in a hammock right on the water. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice and attentive to the needs of guests. The side trips are organized beautifully and personally to your needs. Jungle trips are affordable and you do EVERYTHING. Dolphins, fishing, hiking, swimming, monkeys. You name it. I stayed for a whole week.

So awesome being ON the actual river! Spent the afternoon having a few beers while relaxing in the hammocks. Beers can be bought from reception. There's no hot water in the showers and the wifi didn't work. Staff were really friendly, helping us book our tours and transport. Location is near the offices for the fast boat to Leticia and is walking distance to restaurants, cafes, and the main plaza. Would stay here again

Nice ambient and people, and an excellent location. They need to make an additional effort on cleanliness and security

The Camiri is the right place for you if you don't need too much comfort. At the time I stayed there the roofs lacked and our room was always a bit wet. Also the place wasn't that well organized though owner Marcel is always trying to arrange everything to make you comfortable. It is a really nice place to stay, to meet interesting people and to hang out on the Amazon!
