Only stayed one night, really good location in the centre of town. Nice deck up on the roof would be good for summer, but too cold at this time of year to make the most of it. Was a bit too expensive. Hostel seemed pretty quiet, bit of a weird atmosphere - quite a few families with 5 year old kids as well as 65 year olds. All in all, from the short time I was there seemed like a decent place to stay and I would probably stay there again if I went back to Canberra.

Lovely, helpful staff. Arrived @ 8 am and were able to check in to ours clean comfy room straight away. Kitchen layout was superb. Not too busy. Central location was excellent. Would stay here again :)

It has a great location in the heart of the downtown and it is easy to access to the National Museum of Oz as well as the Parliament House. I love the atmosphere and price, but the attitude of some staff , not all, is not nice enough!

Outrageous extra charges for Internet and luggage storage. I\'m surprised they don\'t charge extra to take a shower too! Also, bright individual reading lights installed in the dorm rooms means that inconsiderate guests can keep everyone well lit late at night.

Like most YHA's, it was clean, modern and a very nice hostel to stay in. The pool and sauna were added bonuses although the pool could so with a bit of heating! My only real moan is the locker arrangement. I imagine the hostel knows most people going down to Melbourne are on the 23.55 coach and force you to put luggage in a paying locker. $9 for 8+ hours. I don't know why they can't facilitate a room for peoples luggage instead of forcing us to pay unnecessarily.

We booked one month in advance for a 10 bed dormitory to get the cheapest price but when we arrived they didn't have it and wanted us to sleep in a 8 beds dormity and py for the different. We had to fight to reach what booked for and then it was ok. The place is good and huge. The bedroom was clean and confortable. The kitchen is huge but the microwaves is a disaster, so dirty!!! The sauna is good but it'is a pity that it closes at 10pm.

The best hostel I've stayed in Australia. It is quite expensive, but there isn't much to choose from in Canberra. The hostel was clean the staff and other guests were nice. Great location. The only things I could of hoped for is free breakfast and some free internet time. Other than that, very good!

internet too expensive. every room including the toilets has key acrd access but there is no security to the building, if staff are busy on the desk you can walk stright in and acess the kitchen area plus the other floors but on these floors you can't access any rooms without a key card. no free luggage storage, you have to pay for lockers @ $5 for the first 4 hours

Although the location was quite nice, it was very loud during the midnight.

Well, considering the location, this is probably the wisest choice for anyone visiting Canberra. Standard YHA hostel. Some of the daytime staff were a bit rigid. I felt a bit awkward dealing with them sometimes as they would generally give you a rehearsed speech on a subject not always even related to what you asked. for. Also, not sure why they told me that there is no luggage storage at the Jolimont center - which there is, with Greyhound although its limited but cheaper that YHA's.

Just one thing...the kitchen was not very big...if the hostel is full of people, as it was when I have been there, it could be a problem.
