A fan in the communal area would go a long way. And a few sharp knives, chopping boards and a few new sauce pan covers with handles would be great.

If your on a budget it will do. The heat in Santa Marta is unbearable for there to only be 2 fans on a high ceiling that you can bearly feel. In the evening it's cooler outside than in the room. Reception staff helpful if you can speak Spanish. Kitchen has not much there. No handles on pots pans, and the cat walks in the kitchen surfaces. I'm not a fussy person and have stayed in worse places than this but I wish I had paid $5 more for s nicer hostel.

Worth it to spend a little more money to stay somewhere else. Bathrooms are filthy and smelly. Rooms are sweltering hot because the windows are boarded up for some reason & there's no AC. Not all beds have a fan. Got up in the middle of the night to sleep outside because it was cooler out there. Owner was not nice. Only positives are that the atmosphere is cute & the receptionist is very kind.

The sink in our room backed up a bit and the rooms were pretty toasty. Other than that it was a great stay with FANTASTIC staff! Loved it!

Basic hostel but fine for a quick stop over in Santa Marta and good value for money. They also have free bag storage which is great for doing trips to surrounding areas

Good price, comfortable beds. Not too clean but stayable. Close to markets and stores, over all a good place to stay. And you can leave your bags for free if you want to do the lost city trek or tayrona beach.

Location is okay, but it's not very clean and the shower is like two raindrops, actually not even enough water to wash your hair. I wouldn't go again!
