The place is clean. But the room is a bit smelly. The place itself is quite hard to notice because it's located inward and no close to the main road. They even have a cat you can play with

Not happy to be told to take my shoes off! It is not in my culture. It is impractical to ask guests particularly with backpacks, or people making several trips to unload their car. A lot of rules explained to us but no interest in us as people. Felt we were intruding on owners kitchen and dining area. The room was comfortable enough but I have concerns regarding fire escape provisions. Windows had no security locks so were not able to be left open.

The hostel is located 30min from iSight, buses and the Canterbury museum. Be aware of that when you book this. The "free wifi" is only 50mb which runs out pretty fast. I would not recommend this hostel.

It would be nice to have a bigger free internet allowance. Some places give unlimited, others at least 200MB. 50 is a bit small to do much with. Staff were very helpful though. Very comfy beds and great cat!

Unfriendly staff, uncomfortable beds.
