Cape byron was an awesome hostel first because it is only a few minutes from the beach, grocery stores and anything else you would need. The free body boards and bikes for the day were also awesome, used the body board every day. Rooms were clean, bathrooms clean, kitchen clean - no complaints. What made this hostel one of my favourites though was yhe staff, they were by far the nicest most accommodating hostel staff I've had. Free walking tour is awesome.

Great atmosphere & location. Kitchen was pretty basic & the bathrooms need some attention! One of the shower heads was falling off and the handle to a tap in the shower completely fell off whilst in use! Toilets & bathroom are like public ones you'd find on the side of the road but other than that the hostel was great. Very close to the beach

I wasn't a big fan of the outdoor eating area as it was quite cold the whole visit, made it very unvomfortable. Also sharing one big washroom with so many people was off-putting, and it seemed to always be wet everywhere. The redeeming factor of this hostel for me was the front desk staff. Super super pleasant men who were full of smiles! And the location was perfect- close to everything but enough out of the way that you don't feel like there's too much going on around you.

Great place! 2 minutes from the beach, pool side in the hostel is great. The pool is really deep and clean. Walk to town is really close.

Cannot praise the staff enough. Trying to remember your name is a lovely touch. Swimming pool and outdoor area is a big plus! Sadly food stealing is a bit too big of a craze, but staff were willing to help out when it did happen. Sadly you will always find one who doesn't understand boundaries!

Just stayed one night, good location, big kitchen but everthing is out of date and you need to ask for the dishes ag the reception. Good atmosphere if you wanna party !

Love this place. There's a pool, although it closes pretty early. Front desk is pretty slow and free wifi is pretty useless but the staff was great. Location is right next to the beach.

I would definitely recommend everybody to stay in Cape Byron. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and professional at the same time. They are always very happy if you stop by to say hi and ask for information, recommending the best things to do in Byron Bay. The hostel is a very fun environment and you get to know lots of people there. I felt like I was in a friendly community where everybody knows each other. Also, the staff organizes daily activities in order to get guests involved.

Good hostel with free WiFi in communal areas. Mostly young people partying but I'm older

very busy and large block hostel. not much personality at all. rooms did not have air con and only a fan blowing hot air around the ceiling because positioned so high. all rooms slept with their doors open on to the outside walkway because it was the only way to get any air in the rooms. only 1 bathroom on each floor and 3 showers in each bathroom for a whole floor of females. the bathrooms were closed for cleaning at 8am so the queue for the showers was long even before the morning really began

Really nice hostel right near the beach and the town. Staff were nice and organise walking tour of the headland which was cool. There isn't any free wifi and it was expensive to buy. There is no air con in the room and the fan did absolute nothing so it was really hot during the night

As long as you go in with a low expectation this place is great. I haven't been in a hostel for a number of years and it was a bit of a shock. The rooms were BOILING, no air con and the fan did nothing. My bed was covered in ants. The hostel was quiet and I did sleep but I only stayed 1 night instead of 3 as it was very clear I'm not cut out for hostels anymore!

Loved the environment of this place, loads of buzz and easy to make friends if you're travelling by yourself. The kitchen facilities regarding the utensils were a little poor plus you have to queue for the sinks in the kitchen for a good while to clean up but otherwise loved my week here.

Had a great stay at this hostel - one night turned into five! Location couldn't be better! The staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate us. One of the cleaners, an older lady, lit up up the place with her friendly smile and positivity. Great atmosphere - easy to meet people, but also easy to get some space. The kitchen cleanliness would be my only complaint, but of no fault of the hostel, just young'ns not cleaning up after themselves. I'm sure a struggle anywhere!

by far the most social and fun hostel I have been to up the east coast! Great staff, great facilities, and the pool is a great place to hang out and meet people! If I return to byron I would stay here again without hesitation.
