Having a hand dryer in the nearest bathroom wake you every 5 minutes during the night is not ideal. Shower amenities were restrictive. Good location -paid premium price for one star accomodation. No shoes inside = unusual, my feet were black.

It was not very clean in bathrooms and rooms (there were hairs in bathrooms and sheets). Not a warm welcoming, We won't go there. It was too expensive for what we had.

Great location - 2 streets from food in Chinatown, close to station, walking distance to Capitol & museums. Hostel seemed really clean, had all the facilities you expect - free wifi & free internet on the hostel computers was great. It's not a party hostel, nobody was very social but we didn't mind because we were doing our own thing. Was kind of weird that you had to take your shoes off, but hostel was clean so wasn't an issue except when bathroom floor was wet. Would stay here again.

Underrated hostel, very clean and safe, excellent central city downtown location too, walking distance to the National Mall. More then I expected. Enjoyed hammock on roof top terrace and awesome friendly atmosphere.

Bathrooms could do with a makeover just newer showers as the water pressure was rubbish and the shower curtains had mould all over the back of one. Need bins and mirrors in the rooms. Other than that we had a great stay. :)

Everything was average except: One toilet was consistently not flushing/disgusting Bummer theres no breakfast, free breakfast is almost an expected standard in hostels Had to wait to check-in until a staff person was there (even though it was after "check-in" time Its a shoe-free facility.

Excellent place, clean, friendly, nice and very helpful staff. Air Conditioned unlike many other hostels. Less than 10 min away from Chinatown.

The number of toilets are limited and one didn't flush well. Bring earplugs. The windows do not keep out the noise of people talking loudly outside on the street at 2 am.

The best hostel I have seen in the States so far. Great atmosphere, air-conditioned rooms! Loved roof top terrace with hammocks to relax after walking all day. Excellent location in city downtown so walked to Smithsonian museums

This place is convenient but doesn\'t look safe. Bathrooms clean. Pleasant staff. About the room : very old mattress, made my back hurt. And last but not least, our room did really stinks - like smell of feet...

Capitol View Hostel self-promotion as a "boutique" hostel is far from accurate. The building is run down and in need of serious repair work. From large gaping holes in the ceiling above the showers to exposed wiring and stained walls, this hostel needs some serious TLC. Also, either the AC wasn't on or there isn't AC, so be prepared for a hot night! If you are only here for a night, or dont really care about cleanliness or comfort it is a cheap way to visit DC.

This hostel was spacious and clean with free internet. I enjoyed chatting with the other guests and the staff member who checked me in. Not really a party hostel but a place to get a good night`s sleep, use their excellent kitchen facilities and watch TV or DVDs.

I liked that the hostel was very laid back. Everyone I met was super nice. However the bathrooms were super gross and there were no hand towels in the bathroom. The staff often seemed MIA while I was there.

Two out of the three staff I met were downright rude, telling me off for arriving ten minutes early for my check in time is just stupid. No real group areas where you can meet fellow travelers. I was woken up each night at 3am by the local drunks screaming and fighting in the street outside my window. I didn\'t feel safe outside after dark. They never change the room codes, security it awful. Location was close to the capitol though so that made it easily accessible to the sites.

I have been travelling around the world. After I stayed in capital view for 3 nights, I have to say this is the best hostel experience ever. It\'s clean, homey, and nice staff. The manager is a very nice lady, I am very pleasant of my stay.
