A very good hostel but with all the additional taxes/charges it was very expensive.

Owner Comment (Show)
James was a very good guest but I am sorry to say that he is mistaken. He was not charged any additional tax or charge. The total cost, tax already included, is as shown on the booking print-out. That is the final price and includes all taxes, free food and free wifi and free pc accessed internet.

Change nothing. Great little independant hostel. Bill does a marvellous job in being hospitable and to ensure that everyone has a pleasant stay.

The hostel was very comfortable, clean and hac a great couch area to meet other travelers. There was also super fast wifi, free toast and peanut butter all day, and computers with printing facilities. Bill the manager was really friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The only downside is the neighborhood is not in the best part of DC, but the bus stop is very close to the hostel

Its is a good place to stay. The host Bill is really friendly, alot of the beds are doubles and it did feel like home. It is a little far from the centre but there is a bus stop near by. One thing to note though is that some people may consider the neighbour a little shady, I personally didnt mind it but it is one thing to consider.

Bill is a great caring and helpful host. I only stayed in the hostel for two nights but really appreciated it. Free toasts, peanut butter and milk, that's much more than any other youth hostel would ever offer. It is not right in the town center but the bus can get you there quite quickly.

The hostel is run by Bill and he is a really great person. I'm glad I've met him. The location a bit far a way from downtown(4 mi), but you can always use X2 metrobus, that will get you there in no time. The service runs for 22 hours so, you can stay late in downtown. I really enjoyed the spirit of this place.

Capitol City hostel is small, but very comfortable and very nice place to stay. Who wants to live in Washington DC for a reasonable price, this is one of the best places. Bill, the boss of the hostel is awesome and funny person, he was nice and very helpful. It was great time there.

Bill is an amazing host and has a great establishment. Though the location may be a little out of the centre of the city, it is easily reached with a single bus trip.

A couple of houses converted into a hostel, in a little bit of run down area out of town, but easy enough to get to as its right next to a bus stop. Owner was lovely and outstandingly helpful, place was ok although a little rough round the edges, but with the amazing free toast and peanut butter, and the excellent price we were pretty happy.

The hostel was good, felt like being in a student dorm (which I liked), the manager is nice, explains to you what you need to know, also about the city (how the streets and public transport work), public transport stops almost in front of the hostel. It's a 25 minute walk from Union Station. The neighbourhood is not so great though. Walking through it will guarantee you a meeting with a homeless person or two, but otherwise it's fine, halfway to Union Station, you'll find a supermarket
