It's a very big hostel right in the centre of the city. The location makes it very easy to get around the city. But the hostel is quite crowded and feels like you're just one of the many travellers passing through. That is understandable because there are so many guests to cater for. But if you're looking for a place that feels home-y, this isn't the place for you. Given the number of guests versus bathrooms there are sometimes other guests banging on the bathroom door telling you to hurry up.

STAY AT THIS PLACE! From start to finish had a great stay here. Staff are friendly, location is absolutely fantastic, right near just about ALL the fun areas of the city. Plus this hostel includes nice FREE little things like printing documents and renting towels which make your stay just that bit more awesome. Great fun, friendly atmosphere in the hostel and you will meet plenty of cool people.

The hostel was lovely, only issue was how clean it was. Beside the beds you could see no cleaning had been done for a long time, heaps of rubbish and dust. The other issue was on the 2nd night of my stay a individual vomited in the room, when the hostel became aware of it nothing was done. The marks remained on the wall for the rest of my 3 nights, they also proceeded to allow other guests to sleep in this bunk. Everything else was actually great, it's just a shame reagarding the cleanliness.

Great stay here. My friend and I spent 3 nights and loved it. Excellent kitchen facilities and pleanty of bathrooms. Only issue was there was a lot of flooding in the bathrooms beside after the shower however they were cleaned at least once a day! Friendly staff and great common room. Wifi was good. Entrance a bit creepy especially if you arrive at night. Overall excellent and I would Stay here again without a doubt!

Great hostel in central location in Budapest. Nice spacious rooms with good wifi and plenty of plug sockets plus huge lockers underneath each bed for storing all your belongings. Big kitchen with cooking facilities and lots of bathrooms. A few complaints: bathrooms are only cleaned once a day so get very wet throughout the rest of the day. Really you should have someone at least dry the floor every couple of hours. Also there is NO air con in rooms - when we were there it was unbearably hot.

Very good location, was great to navigate around the city. Great common area! Rooms got really hot at night because no fan or air con. Good kitchen if you're looking to cook your own food. Kitchen could be set up so its a bit more socialable. Don't take lift up to hostel, you will get stuck haha

Good: decent wifi, big kitchen / dorms, quiet beds, large lockers, nicely decorated, great location and AMAZING staff! Bad: spent half an hr on the street in the dark trying to buzz up to the hostel to be let in the front door, same happened when we tried to get our luggage after we'd checked out (told doorbell doesn't work, had to phone to be let in - cost me lots to make the call!), too few bathrooms so queues every morning, bathrooms v flooded, room was very hot, had towel stolen

Jesus christ, there's effectively no air conditioning in this place. There are two portable air conditioners for the entire place that houses...I dunno, >100 travelers. For a city like Budapest, you need air conditioning.

Such a great place to stay! Right in the heart of the city, close to everything you'd need. Staff were friendly and the hostel was clean and vibrant. Definitely going back!

Great hostel! Amazing location and great value for money. It might not be the fanciest but it has everything one needs in a hostel. Large lockers provide security, and entry to the hostel requires opening several gates. Only possible drawback was the lack of AC.

The only major issue happened on the last day when two guys were asleep in the all-girls roroom. Not sure what happened there but nothing from it and iit was still an enjoyabl stay

Location: right in the tourist area, easy walk to the river. Only issue is that it is quite expensive to eat out due to the touristic nature of the restaurants. But the hostel was really hard to find, we walked in and thought we'd just found an out building. You have to go up two flights of stairs for the hostel. Staff were helpful and gave suggestions. They called a cab for us to get to the airport. Very secure both to get in and also the large personal lockers. Nice spacious kitchen.

Great hostel in a very busy tourist location. It is super easy to get everyone where you want to go, but it was bothersome at times to step out of the hostel and into a crowd of people. The hostel has a good vibe to it, and the staff was very helpful. They suggested places to exercise, sightsee, and party and we never had bad luck with their suggestions. The only annoying thing about the hostel was that the shower floors were always very wet and easy to slip on.

We had such a good stay in Captain Budapest, the staff was kind and reliable even after our travel (we have to mention Marcell, Tibi and Csenge! :D) the dorms are large and cozy, and you'll really appreciate the square in front of you (Our Little Coney Island). Please have a stay here and enjoy budapest as well!

I stayed in a 10 bed dorm, and was definitely surprised with the amount of space. Every person gets a large locker with a lock under their bed. As an added bonus, each bed has a plug next to it, even the top bunks. The bathrooms were nice and there's a lot of them, so as long as you don't try and shower thirty minutes before checkout, you're fine. The kitchen is also pretty large and well stocked. Only complaint was that wifi only worked in the kitchen. Other than that, everything was fine.

Thank you very much for your hospitality! Especially to Tibi and his patience with two crazy Russian girls haha :)

Very big hostel, so its dificult to control everything. Maybe if the rooms didnt have so many beds, would be better. There is a very good kitchen but only one fridge, very crowded. we didnt feel comfortable to use this facility, which we had planned to. The wifi dont work at all but in the kitchen, which was really annoying. the bathrooms were ok, not great, but ok. Staff was generally nice.
