A simple, clean hostel near to the centre of town. Friendly staff and a well equipped kitchen (clean too!). Close to the sea and river. Bathrooms and bedrooms clean.

It might be the only place to stay in town, but it would be hard to do better anyway. Lovely little hostel and the owners are great. It was a quiet night so we all had dinner together and it is a very friendly place.

It is a great little hostel if you want to see a part of Ireland easy to reach from Dublin but with a country feel. You can pay a small fee to have them drive you out to day trips on walking trails and they are super friendly and willing to help you out and give you all kinds of information. I stayed there at an off-peak time and so it was less crowded and really calm.

All around great experience. Wonderful location, close enough to Dublin, but with great access to the National Park. Trish and Ian are warm, friendly, and very accommodating!

The hostel and staff were lovely. It's the perfect location for heading around Wicklow. It's quiet at night though, it's definitely not a party hostel. The rooms were big and clean and the showers were amazing! I would definitely stay there again.

Trish was an absolute joy and she and Ian were both very helpful in letting us know what was going on around town. Also, the hostel was in a great location both near the center of town and the coastline.

6 of us stayed at Cap[tain Halpins and enjoyed every minute. Trish is very helpful taking you on a free tour of the town and also making you aware of everywhere to visit. Glendalough is one of the nicest spots and well worth a visit. Trish will even give you a lift there and take you back to the hostel! Breakfast is also available at a small price which is great and homemade wheaten bread is on the menu.

This was the best hostel I have ever stayed in by far! Wicklow is a beautiful area, and the people are among the nicest I have ever met. The owners of this hostel were incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast, though not included is 2 euro, well spent. The bathrooms are clean, and all the people I met at the hostel were friendly and willing to share their travel stories over porridge at breakfast. I will return as soon as I can.

My friends and I stayed here 3 nights. The couple that runs the hostel are very kind and helpful. They helped us figure out what we wanted to do for the day and knew a lot about the history. The town is a hour and half outside Dublin, but if you are looking for a small town, this is it. The couple is also willing to drive you to Glendalough or surrounding areas for a small fee but will pick you up too. The only problem was getting into Dublin for an early morning flight the buses were late sometimes and sto

Really enjoyed our stay here, the staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable about the area, we had a great time on the excursions that they recommended. The facilities are great; kitchen with all amenities, dining room, clean bathrooms, power showers, open fire in the sitting room, selection of board games, books, DVDs, CDs etc. We will definitely be booking in again soon.

Ian was very helpful and kind. He drove us to glendaulogh lake and made great suggestions. The hostel was clean, but cold at night. I would come back.

Great place to stay. Very friendly oweners and also very friendly local people in Wicklow. It is very cosy place to stay to relax. Not a hostel for partying, but many pubs with great friendly people around and beautiful surroundings. If you want to visit glendalough and you do not have a car, it is best place to stay, because they take you there by car :-)

If you are thinking of booking this hostel - DO IT! It is situated in a beautiful part of Wicklow. Very friendly staff - Trish and Ian are both lovely and very welcoming. I could not recommend this hostel enough. The walk along the cliffs to the lighthouse is a beautiful walk and a visit to Glendalough is a must!
