The building is old but its condition was obviously in a state of disrepair in many areas. The furnishings, carpets were very dirty. The floors were unvacuumed and dirty. The overall condition of facilities was sub par even for a hostel. Looks like the place is being run to the ground.

Very very nice hostel and almost impossible to feel left out! A great place to come and let your hair down for a few days and relax. Kitchen is kept clean and fully stocked with everything you need. A good breakfast can be bought daily for 2 euro. No complaints whatsoever.

Great location, pretty safe, open atmosphere but some of the guests were asking us to be quiet at 10 o'clock on a Saturday night so if you stay at a hostel on a Saturday, please expect noise.

While the location was great and the owner was nice, we did not enjoy our stay and checked out early because of that. From the moment we checked in they did not lay out any sort of ground rules for quiet hours. The beds were incredibly close together with little storage space. People were constantly coming in and out at all hours and they were very loud, rude, and drunk. This place attracts rowdy and rude teenagers who are not considerate of other guests. Would not recommend.

It was a very good hostel! The owner was more then helpful and I can only recommend to stay at the Captain Halpin's Hostel. Breakfast was very good for only 2€ and there was even fresh, self made bread! Best hostel we had in Ireland.

beautiful house in a great town. the first step on the staircase into the loft in 7b is broken and i did slip down a couple times, so I'm sure any future tenants would like if it was fixed

Owner Comment (Hide)
Have fixed that step! :) Thanks for your review - glad you enjoyed the town, and hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

The hostel is very well located, nearby the city center nevertheless in a quiet surroundings. There are several nice bars, cafes and pubs just around the corner. The owner was very kindly and uncomplicated when he assigned us spontaneously a bigger room then we actually booked. Just one point of criticism: The furnishing looked a little worn - therefore savings should not be attempted in the wrong place.
