I definitely would go there again. I've been to so many hostels before, but that was the best I saw on my trip in Australia. Stuff was very friendly.

staff incredibly helpful and friendly, really safe and secure, really nice pool. perfect location in cairns away from the noise. rooms were very comfortable. if i travel back through cairns ill be staying at caravella again

Free internet does not mean free of charge... The showers needs to be cleaned more often (4 to 6 beds dorm). Real doors between room and bathroom would be great.

Great location on the esplanade but could do with a few more organised activities... Instead of sending everyone to the woolshed. Great staff and clean rooms, and the pool is definately s bonus!

Was pleasantly surprised with Caravella. Had a private double room which was very spacious and fitted with all the basics. In a great location - short walk to the centre of town and marina area. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Would recommend and definately stay again!

Not a fan of cockroaches and a smelly fridge inside the room. Especially since this is one of the more expensive hostels in town. Have to say though, the staff is excellent and very friendly. They knew my name instantly.

- : Special big up to the staff. They had been very welcoming (the receptionist remembered my name!!!!!!), helpful, available... + : Uncomfortable 6 beds rooms But the bunk beds are very low, it's specially impossible to sit down on the lower bed. They isn't any furniture to tidy your close so the room is usually messy...

Amazing staff and super clean! definitely recommend staying here. also very accomodating for longer term stays.

When I arrived at Cairns airport, they lost my bags so after 2 days of travelling and absolutely no clothes I was raging!!! But on arrival to the Caravella the staff were unbelievable, could not of being more helpful.Gave me a towel, toilitries etc and was just the nicest experience - can not thank them enough! stayed for 4 extra nights as a result!!

Agreed, it is a bit massive hostel ans the staff is very keen on guests booking activities and cars there, but they give good information, the kitchen is good and the rooms are excellent value for money.

Note that the free Internet in this ad is actually only an hour of free Internet, not unlimited. This is probably the case for all hostels in Cairns, though... even the local library charges per hour for Internet. Basically, if you intend to use the Internet on your trip, I suggest that you finish everything you can before arriving at Cairns. The staff at this hostel are extremely friendly and helpful.

The place was great. Especially having your own fridge in your room.

I was so spoiled staying here on my first hostel stay. Room 73 was a private room, we got upgraded for free. The room was huge, bigger beds, a/c, refrigerator, nice shower. The internet connection was awesome. This place is fantastic!!!!!!
