Staff absolutely superb from owner through to maintenance. EXCELLENT location, safe and secure kitchens immaculate, good impartial advice given..

It would call this hostel a party-hostel. People are in the yard at night where they simply have fun. Unfortunately you can hear the noise in every room. The rooms are old, but the price is ok for that. There is a fridge in every room.

Best hostel we stayed at in Australia! The doublerooms are more like apartments, and still cheap! Great value and lovely staff. Highly recommended!!

The best hostel we have stayed at in Australia so far. Clean, spacious rooms with a/c and a fan. The staff are helpful and friendly, you can book trips and activities through them and they aren't pushy. The kitchen is clean and well equipped which is rare. All in all excellent value for money, highly recommend it.

We booked a double room with on-suite bathroom and we were very pleasantly surprised at the size of our room, we even had a small sitting room with a fridge that was only for our use. The room was spotless and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The free dinner was also a welcome extra. At the end of a 2 month trip through Australia in a campervan this was the perfect way to end the trip (and the aircon made it even better).

Lovely hostel. Very friendly staff, and the owner was also very friendly and remembered people individually. Excellent value for money, and the rooms were very clean.

Beautiful....I expected so much less than the actual experience. It was beautiful, totally recommendable.

Internet is expensive, however this can be fixed by numerous free wifi spots around the city. Much quieter hostel than many in Cairns, good for getting out on excursions/dive trips etc. For those who want to party, probably best to look elsewhere. Really enjoyed this place though, would stay again

Good location which is a short walk to downtown and the walk is along the water boardwalk. The room was very clean. The internet was over priced and the signal was too poor so to use it I had to walk down to the common kitchen area. It is also difficult to get your key deposit back if you have to leave early for a flight or, as we were, for a dive trip. The office closes and there is not way of contacting anyone after hours.

Definitely can recommend Caravellas. They upgraded us from dorms to a private room since we're a couple. Very friendly staff, especially the new girl - let's hope she stays that way. Travel desk is also helpful. They have a pool and are very close to the esplanade. Room and bathroom were clean. All in all enjoyed my stay!

We loved this hostel and the staff were some of the friendiest and most helpful we have come across, however it really lacked a communal inside area...like a tv/movie room. Very clean and great location.

My stay at Caravella Backpackers in Cairns was really good. I liked the character of the hostel and the atmosphere of a smaller hostel a lot. I even extended my stay for the whole time I spent in Cairns. The staff is friendly and helpful and they recommended and booked my trip to the Great Barrier Reef which was awesome! The Value for money was more than ok as the rooms were clean and the size for 4 people with an ensuite perfect. I would totally reccommend this hostel!!!

Perfect Hostel, We stayed in a 4 bed dorm for 18$ per night per person and got a free meal every evening. The room was very clean, the pool was great and the location was perfect for us with everything in Cairns whitin walking distance. Would not stay anywhere else in Cairns.

Caravella backpackers was a warm and helpfull hostel. The staff their was so helpfull, if you had any questions they would answer them or they would find the answer for you. They recommend what local activites to do for day trips or even half a day trips. Overall caravella backpakers has been the best hostel that i have been to and i thank them for a great experience in Cairns.
