I had my three children with me (we were doing a volunteer trip in Lima) and although the website said that typically it was for the late 20s early 30s crowd we signed up anyway. We were not disappointed. Carola del Sur is incredibly relaxing and such an easy going staff. We had a great time. The kids loved laying in the hammocks as much as they did exploring the sand dunes in the back of the hostel. It was an amazing way to end a five week trip to Peru! Thanks so much.

This hostel is ok for an overnight stop. The rooms are basic and a bit dingy but bed was fairly comfortable and so it was fine for the price. The restaurant was not open on one day we were there so we had to go out for breakfast as there are no kitchen facilities. The lower garden area is ok with hammocks in the shade but the place is in need of a complete revamp. The pool area was dirty and badly maintained so we did not use it.
our reservation "got somehow lost", staff with unfriendly and not really helpful. took another hour to get a room.. would not recommend in high season, staff not able to handle a lot of people
The reviews on here were pretty bad but we booked anyway as it was the only place available, we were expecting it to be really awful, but considering the very cheap price it was suprisingly ok. Very sociable, right next to the dunes, there is a pool but didn't go in. There was a sheep and a few dogs which was cute. We did sand boarding with the hostel and was well run, could of had better boards. All in all a very cheap hostel with basic facilities but good location and very sociable vibe
We had a good stay, handy location close to the but the hostel was quite noisy during the evening and night. It was great to have a pool onsite but it needs a good clean. Room was ok, some of the staff only spoke spanish.
