Great staff, awesome city, good location and facilities. Always an event for the night time.

Some of the staff found it difficult to smile. Poor standard of toilet and shower. Poor resolution of the cabinets. I would not recommend this hostel!

Massive dive of a hostel and not in a good way. Barely got a map at check in, had to ask where to toilets and kitchen are and generally could only find one of the guys on staff regularly. Washrooms were a mess, showerheads didn't even work. Apparently its gotta be hotter then balls in leather pants to turn on the a/c in the rooms too. And there is not 24 hr reception. Ppl are in bed by 3am and up by 9am, not so party friendly

This is quite simply an amazing hostel!! Great social atmosphere, amazing staff that take you out every night (I actually had a pretty hard time trying to figure out who was staff and who were the guests for a couple days, they were that tight with the guests). If you don't stay here in Budapest, you're a moron. Also, if you can, try to make it for the Friday night booze cruise - it was incredible. Suggestion for the staff - list on Hostelworld the weekly events! They were amazing! - Ryan ;)

Incredibly friendly staff. impressively so. Their systems for guests made the stay SO easy. So much better than many hostels: wrist radio key for the door, address on the wristband with key code, foot locker, free towel. Everything runs smooth. On first arrival you might have trouble finding the entrance, but the address is clearly marked and staff answer the phone for help. The party scene at night is excellent. Its all managed by the hostel. Easy to get sleep if in the smaller rooms.

If you're wanting to party 24/7 then this is the place to do it. If you want to sightsee during the day and then sleep at night don't stay here. We wanted to do a mixture of both and on the nights where we decided to stay in we ended up being kept awake most of the night by people coming and going and people being loud and drunken in our rooms. People were often forced to sleep on the couches because of what others were doing in the dorms late at night. It's loose and very party orientated.

A hostel with a great atmosphere and very helpful staff, who gave great recommendations for places to see and eat, and some kind of bar/going out activity organised every night (the boat party was awesome!) Location in the jewish quarter is also great for getting around the city. Everything was quite clean, only downside was the showers were a very tight fit and hot water was not available around midday. Otherwise, highly recommend this hostel!

There's always something fun to do at Vitae. Whether it's dress up night, pub crawl or a booze cruise you will definitely have fun staying at this hostel. The rooms are nice and spacious and the bathrooms are clean. There's also a games area and a few comfy couches if you just feel like chilling out. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Budapest.

I would like to firstly say that this is a GREAT hostel! Travelling is all about experiences! Here you can get them all! Staff will take you out on the town every night and show you the latest and greatest pubs, clubs and events! They give you an awesome low down of the sights to see around the city, and also little trips outside the city! Staff are super nice and are always willing to help you in anyway You wont be disappointed with this place!

This was a nice hostel with friendly staff. Better suited for people under 30 as attracts a younger crowd who like to party hard! So if your young, want to have a good time then go for it. Myself, being over 30, not really for me.

The best hostel i have ever been to, heard of or seen. Not only the staff is very organized, friendly and efficient, but they also party with the guests and make everything a lot more fun! I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

We had a great time at Carpe Noctem Vitae! Hawaii was awesome and took us to great places to party, she definitely has the hook up.

This hostel is fantastic! Great staff who are very friendly and love to help you with anything you may need. Very fun activities planned every night, and they even cook dinner! I only planned to be here 4 days but stayed for 6 and will definitely be coming back! The facilities are nice, free wifi, clean showers, super comfy beds compared to the usual mats you get. Excellent price, great location, stay here!

I absolutely loved my stay at carpe! it was my first experience traveling alone but I felt at home from the moment I got there. The entire staff is awesome and very helpful. Not only will they point you in the direction of places to see or eat, they also come out and have a good time with you every night. The facilities are cleaned every morning so it stays nice. Everyone there made my stay in Budapest absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to go back!

Probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!!!! Staff are second to none, they are able able to maintain a balance between professionalism and party-ing! They have all the right advice and tips on where to eat/ drink / party / chill etc. The organised hostel activities cater for everyone! Would reccomend this hostel for anyone up for a good time!!!
