Good hostel, excellent location, very clean and secure. With that being said this hostel is in my opinion more suited for groups than for backpackers. A strict 9pm noise curfew is ridiculously randomly maintained (or not maintained) and the hostel has a strong 'busabout' kind of atmosphere to it (it's not the most sociable place). The pub crawls and the bath party that the hostel organised (together with three other hostels) were great fun. I reckon I'll be back in Budapest soon.

CANNOT MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE! The staff and hostel are 50% of the reason why Budapest is now my favorite European city. Never have I met a better crowd of people and I'm already looking into going back. I've travelled to over forty countries and I'm ranking this as the #1 place I've stayed. Too good to be true.

I traveled to Budapest in search of a party, some sightseeing, and the possibility of meeting some fellow travelers. I left with unforgettable memories, amazing experiences, and lifelong friends - and I can truly say that it was 100% due to the staff and soul of Carpe Noctem Vitae!! The passion and love that the staff has for Budapest and helping guests is really something special. They created the perfect balance of comfort, creativity, and (def.) craziness. I will always recommend Vitae.

We went stayed at Carpe Noctem Vitae while on spring break from college and could not have made a better choice! The staff are incredibly accommodating and you immediately feel like you're being welcomed into a family rather than a hostel! The beauty and intrigue of Budapest itself goes without saying, but if you stay here I can guarantee you will get the full experience! The Hungarian nightlife is amazing on its own, but partying with the guys of Carpe was definitely the highlight of our stay!

My friends and I(3 girls) had the most amazing time in Budapest, all thanks to Vitae. The staffs are VERY welcoming and chill, they made us feel welcomed the second we stepped in. The hostel offers to take us out each night and party together. First night, we went to a bath party. Alcohol+bath+music, what more can you ask for? We had the most memorable experiences here. It was so hard to leave, to say goodbye to our new friends. If we're ever back in BUD, we'll definitely stay at Vitae :)

Probably my favorite hostel I've stayed in yet. I traveled alone and everyone was SO welcoming and fun. The set up was awesome and it really is like a little family, even though I was there for only 2 days. incredible. The staff were the coolest too, great attitudes and really knew how to have an awesome time. "Cyclops" (willy) is the absolute coolest guy I've met,and has some incredible stories. If you stay here, which you should, get to know him!! AWESOME HOSTEL, AWESOME PEOPLE, AWESOME CITY.

I have to say that this is the best hostel I have ever been to. They staff who runs Vitae is absolutely hilarious and they radiate positivity. I first noticed how CLEAN the place was. The shower was HUGE. LOCATION is awesome! Easy to find. They use a sophisticated security system that makes it impossible to lose your key. It is the most fun I've had in Europe. We went on a free bar crawl, to a Turkish Bath Rave, and JagerTrain+OpenMicNight. They offer family dinner at ingredient cost!!!!!!

This hostel is great. Absolutely fantastic. We loved it so much there! The staff is amazing - seriously, they MADE our trip. the only reason we didn't give it a 100% is because although the staff keep it as clean as they can - which is pretty good - it's a bit shabby. Also, they have a safe. but no lockers in the bedrooms. Not that it's a problem or anything - everyone was so awesome - but it would have been nice.

Hi, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. I just thought I'd clarify that we do in fact have lockers in every room, there are two lockers under every single bunk and we have padlocks available for free hire to anyone that doesn't have a lock of their own. Hopefully you can come back and visit us again soon. Kind Regards, Vitae Management

Unreal time. My friends and I were sad to leave, such a great environment there. Great vibes between the personal staff that really wants you to enjoy Budapest with a thorough introduction to the city and then following up with great night plans for everyone in the hostel. The hostel itself had clean bathrooms, nice showers and lots of natural light, which is always a plus! As a whole, totally recommend! Don't think I would have had such a fantastic, positive experience without them!

When you travel it is fairly easy to make friends but rarely can you find a family. Vitae's location, ample common space and planned activities allow for you to see the city both by day and night. The staff's love for travellers is hard to put in to words. They genuinely care about your experience and want you to question if leaving Budapest is a good choice...you'll see, a lot of people stay. Make Vitae a part of your Budapest experience and you will not forget your time in the city.

Heaps rad place! Real friendly and helpful staff, all of which made a point of introducing themselves and willing to give advice and tips on Budapest. On arrival, was given a cup of coffee and a run down on the city and all it's attractions. Everyday there were suggestions on things to do and see, and something planned for each night. Super social atmosphere, perfect for a solo traveller wanting to party with like minded people!!

There is nothing bad to say about Carpe Noctem Vitae. The staff are definitely one of the highlights of this great hostel, as is the great kitchen facilities and common areas. The hostel is very well maintained despite it being a party hostel, and the location is good with very close proximity of public transport if you prefer not to reach the furthest sights on foot. Thanks for a wonderful stay guys, if I am ever in BP again I'll be sure to holla! :)

The best place to be when visiting Budapest :) As the staff said: "you don't come here on vacations, you stay at our hostel for experiences"! Warm and friendly atmosphere with a music background, activities recommended everyday, home-made meals on demand, reliable and very dedicated staff. Simply AWESOME!

Delightfully fun and splendidly helpful staff. Certainly good for travelling alone and meeting people and getting drunk and, when nursing a hangover, the wifi was quick enough to slump on a couch and watch South Park on laptop. Nothing not to like at all. Saying that, the lift made some scary noises...

Great hostel, great location, GREAT atmosphere. I'll definitely be going back, and I've recommended this hostel to about six friends who have also since gone to Budapest and loved it too. The staff actually didn't even seem as if they were working - they just hung out and partied with everyone like the other guests (I'm sure some work was happening behind the scenes too)! Really nice group of people. Go!

Great hostel. Was a party hostel but since the partying was done at bars you could still come back and pass out in peace.

It's great that the hostel organizes parties and events everyday, so you can even go out on quiet nights and it's easy to meet new people if you travel alone. The big common room feels just like a living room and there's always someone to chat with. The staff are super nice and happy to give you advice on your sightseeing programme. The common bathrooms are quite small though, and there is not a lot of room where you can put your things. Other than that, great hostel!
