The atmosphere is hot, but It's too MESSY and more like a British colony of party animals rather than an intl hostel for young travellers. It may make whom are not from Commonwealth countries feel isolated or even ignored. And many of them seem like only live in the hostel and hang out for parties every night (Yes, it's famous for being a party hostel!) but not visit the city. It's actually the atic of the apt. Great location. Staff r helpful n give good advices.

Very disappointed with the cleanliness and manner of staff. There were blood stains on the wall and rubbish down beside bed. Shower ceiling covered in mould. Half the staff had no idea what was going on and their level level I helpfulness depended on how hungover they were. One person asked about bus directions and the staff member just said "I don't know" and walked off.

We had an awesome time there! It definitely changed the way we saw the whole city in general because of the kindness and fun spirit of its staff. It is highly recommendable to stay there when you go to Budapest.

The hostel could do with a good scrub to be frank and so could the staff! If this one is the 'less party hostel' of the two I wouldn't like to think what it's like. Every morning we woke to people sleeping on the couches c- surly they need to pay for a bed too. The worst thing was the cleanliness - just because its a party hostel doesn't mean it should be dirty. At least the location is ok.

Initially booked in for 3 nights´ stay - ended up staying more than 3 weeks. There´s something on every night so you have an excuse to drink all the time. Most amazing staff imaginable (Sexy Rob, Hawaii, JDubs, Keys, Titties, Tits Mcgee, Gaycub, Ally, & C3, Dan & Hattie). I made some great friends during my stay & had an incredible time. Basically, if you love having some good laughs & drinks with good people, Vitae won´t disappoint.

It is a party hostel so if you think about chilling out, it should'nt be your choice

Definite party hostel! Great fun. Non-stop party. Big Australian contingent. Run mostly by Aussies. No real personal space.

Without a doubt favourite hostel in Europe. The staff were amazing, they made everyone feel like they were apart of one big party family!!! Every night is there is a different event but they all have one thing in common. You leave very drunk and extremely happy. If your going to Budapest(which you must) you have to go to Carpe Noctem Vitae.

awesome place to stay! loved the staff and the atmosphere. they did tend to make us leave the hostel too early though i felt, and it was like we were being hurdled out before we had a chance to do some cheap drinking in the hostel. another computer could be good to, one wasnt quite enough. regardless of all i would go back to this hostel or one of the carpe noctums of budapest!

The hostel was a great place but it felt more like a 18-30 holiday resort as the staff encouraged u to go out with them drinking which was perfectly ok but if you had other plans then you where treated as an out cast and even given dirty looks by the staff and guest as if there was a hostel click and especially as we where in the private double rooms. So we where even less involved in the gang!! Also do not buy the d7 district drink vouchers they are the biggest waste of money going!!!!!

Best hostel in Europe! Place is clean the staff treat you like family. They take you out every night on different party tours. The common rooms are excellent. The whole hostel is literally a common room so it's impossible not to make friends. This hostel is one of four hostels in a chain which all work together to ensure you get to party in Budapest. They keep the place quiet at night so even tho it's a party hostel you can sleep. Staff have good knowledge of the city. Taxis from airport.

I absolutely loved this hostel. It was exactly what my friend and I were looking for. The staff are people just like you, just looking for a good time and a relaxed environment. It was a great weekend, I would definitely come back! Especially since I had a bit of an issue after a wild night, and the staff was totally understanding even though I may have ruined some of their stuff.

I went there by myself for only 2 days and I managed to have a really good time! I think the staff, overall, are friendly and motivated. The hostel is very well located and the place is clean for the amount of people in it. Hope to go back for a longer time with friends.

Carpe Noctem Vitae was amazing. The staff and people staying there are some of the most interesting people you will ever meet. Perfect hostel to meet people and have a ridiculous time as well. Don't think. Just go there.
