Casa Carmen was a fantastic choice! It is located off of Calle Media Luna, which is always on and popping with clubs, bars, and restaurants. It is a 5 minute walk to the clock tower, which puts you in the walled city. Breakfast everyday was nice, but it was the same thing everyday (eggs, fruits, fresh juice and toast - this is fine for a few days, not for 5 haha). The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming and even though they don't have a safe box, I left my stuff out without any worries.

Arrived at Casa Carmen after a terrible taxi ride where the driver did not take us to the hotel location and locked us in the vehicle until we paid him 100.000. Thankfully, a friendly neighborhood man walked us to the hotel where we finally noticed the welcoming nature of Cartagena that we heard about. We stayed for one night, had a phenomenal night of tapas and drinks at Demente down the street, and a delicious breakfast the following morning. Would definitely recommend, take yellow taxi though

The rooms were clean, quiet, the AC worked very well, and the staff was helpful in booking a boat to Playa Blanca and a bus to Santa Marta. Good location in the heart of getsemani. The breakfast was typical colombian fare: fruit, bread, eggs, juice, coffee. A quiet place for seemingly older or quieter guests. Enjoyable.
