Great hostel with a cozy atmosphere not far away from Merida city center. Great staff. Excelent breakfast at a beautiful terrace served by the friendly owner.

We really felt welcomed in the Chalia Hostel. The couple who owns the place do everything that you feel good, they give good advices, speak english, german, spanish, dutch and who knows which languages. Because we had to get up early they made us a "breakfast to go" and we could leave our luggage until late in the evening and have a shower, before we left for an additional little money. Thanks for everything!

The hosts were amazing and the breakfasts superb. The room was small, clean and comfortable and the value was great. Its a ten minute walk to the main square and all the recommendations were helpful!

The owners, Jan and Linda, truly know what it means to be hospitable. I enjoyed my stay and it's location 2 blocks from the bus station made it very practical.

The breakfast changes every morning and is really excellent. It is homemade by the owners and tastes like in a restaurant. Also the owners are very helpful and show you important places on the map. They recommended us a trip to Cuzuma which was one of the most amazing things we have done in Merida. We were also able to join at a "fiesta" which was a great cultural experience.

Casa Chalia is not too far from the bus station, which is handy. It's a bit of a walk into town, but we needed the exercise anyway! The owners really are very nice and helpful. Jan kindly lent me his computer cable when mine was broken. Breakfast was great and the kitchen area is lovely; it's a great place to relax. The room we had was small, but large enough to fit all our gear in. I'd definitely recommend a stay here, for we had a very positive experience.
