A very nice hostel with lots of charm, a very nice terrace and an excellent breakfast. We stayed in the twin room with shared bathroom. The room was nice and clean. The drawback of this room is that it is divided to the other room with only a closed door. So you can really hear everything from the other room, we even heard them handling their zip or the rustling of their plastic bag (not to mention all of what they said). In the shower on the upper level there was hardly any warm water.

The owners seem to have the house keeper running the place. She is a lovely lady but don't expect any English here.

I am sorry that we were not there to attend you personally during your stay, but once a year we take two weeks of vacation and it was just during your visit. Verónica does not speak english but she does her best to help with anything you might need. For our guests who do not speak any spanish everyday in the shift between 2pm and 8 pm a person who speaks very good english helps with any question or doubt. When we can attend our guests in person we can help with spanish, german, english and french, but again sorry for your inconveniences during our two week break.

Steps... Take in mind you have to carry your luggage because there is a stairs between the street and the hostal... But we can reach by foot almost all sights.

We are sorry that you did not had a pleasant time at Casa Kultour, but the stairs are an important part of the UNESCO heritage area of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción in Valparaíso. Many cab drivers don´t drive up the last 20 meters of the street but if your luggage is heavy you can ring the bell and we help you.

The staff was not around when we arrived so we had to leave for a few hours and then come back. They seemed to never be around and other guests had the same experience.

We are sorry that you had this perception, but the day you left your luggage to take the late bus i gave you a key in order to pick up your things in case that i would not be at home. We spend great part of the Sunday afternoon waiting, but unfortunately when you came for your luggage i had left. Sorry again.

Great location in the middle of the Cerro Alegre, a very nice area. The room was quite big and nice. The small garden is nice as well. The only negative point is that there was almost no welcome, and that is difficult to find the staff if you need any information or advice.

I am sorry that we didn´t had much contact, but in january and february i am very busy with city tours and wine tours. In any case when you need information you ask the person at the breakfast and they give me a call to answer questions.

The hostel is located at the top of a gigantic hill on a street that doesn't exist. You follow the street to the end and it's still another 60 to 75' on up a cobble stone path (not even a street). There was renovations going on but it didn't effect our stay. The assistance of the people was great... The breakfast was a little short... Couldn't pay w/ credit card... Finally paid with dollars and had a hard time doing this... When we left and a taxi was called, the taxi couldn't get to the hotel

The personal character of Valparaiso consists on his 42 hills. We are located between the Alegre and the Concepcion hill, which had become the touristic and gastronomic center of Valparaiso. A stair leads to our house which can be difficult if you have a lot of heavy luggage. But if you ring us the bell first we help you to get up or down.
