This hostel seems very well-prepared for guests, with dual-language signage and good information. Yes, it's strange that the private rooms are in an unmarked building a few blocks away, but it wasn't a big deal for a few days. The dorm building seems like a great place to chill. It was clean and comfortable. My only issues were that some promised items (laundry room and free coffee) never materialized.

Only one door between the street and the bedroom. Without any protection and security. In the morning we didn´t get breakfeast because nobody opened the door of the hostel and we had no key for the front door. You should think about a better system for te private rooms.

Owner Comment (Show)
All Hostelworld's and web descriptions clearly indicate that our new private rooms are located in a separate building one block away from the main house, so there's no reason for this guest to say they didn't expect to stay one block away, when even in the written confirmation sent by Hostelworld this situation is indicated. Guests are provided with keys for the main house as well for the one where the privates are, this system has been working perfectly so far and guests appreciate the privacy and comfort of staying in a quieter house while still being able to enjoy all the facilities of the main house. Security is guaranteed with a safety lock in the street door and a different lock for the room's door, and staff is available 24 hours a day. This is the standard for hostels and b&b's around the world, not to mention that Queretaro is the safest city in Mexico. We don't understand why they say they weren't able to have breakfast when they actually had breakfast in the hostel. Also we don't understand if this was the issue they felt bad about, why they put bad ratings in all the other categories. Casa San Gallito staff is always worried about assuring our guest's comfort and well-being and we will continue working towards this commitment. All the good, and not so good, comments keep us working hard every day!!

The Casa San Gallito is located in the historic center of Queretaro, and this means that you can basically go everywhere you want to go on foot. The staff members are friendly and accommodating, and the hostel itself is a cute and spiffy little place with lots of character and charm. I would heartily recommend the Casa San Gallito to anyone who wants a nice little place to stay while they check out the many delights of Santiago de Queretaro. Two thumbs up!!

Nice atmosphere, good location in the middle of the city, but the bed and linen could be much more clean...

Thanks for your comments! Checking with our staff you may have received some sheets that were a little worn out, which probably left you with the impression that they were not clean enough. One of our bigest concerns is cleanliness. Currently, we are in the process of changing all of our linens, so rest asured that the next time you visit us your stay will be 100% satisfactory.

Very great hostel! Have locker, two different doors to be locked during night. Great staff, free internet... the only disappointment I have for this hostel is that they do not provide maragine or spread for the breakfast. I dislike peanut butter on toasts. Also great character and decoration, love it here!

I think the sign should be more visible. It is hard to get to the hostel at night.

Great place to stay in Queretaro close to everything. There were no hot water in the shower. It doesn\'t look to be very secured in the 2nd building as the door of the room can be opened very easely for example if another guest doesn\'t lock correctly the door to exit the place.

Casa San Gallito Hostel was one of the old fashioned buildings in Querétaro which was awesome. We stayed a private room located in 1 block away from the main building. It was a little bit cold in the night so you might want to get an extra blanket if you stay there in December. The stuff was very kind.
