Rudeness of 2 out of the 3 staff members we met could not get into our room at 1.30pm as it was occupied, but strangely when it was our turn to check out the staff were banging on the door at 12:01 charged us $7,000 pesos to bring in outside guests, no other hostels in Valparaiso did that

We had a private double room in the apartment next door for two nights and then decided to the spend a third night but had to take a private single in the main building as the double was already booked. The apartment next door is just two double rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen and is beautiful and private and amazing. The room in the main building didn't have a window but shared a beautiful kitchen and living space. Location is perfect.

We enjoyed our stay here, as the staff was very friendly, and the hostel was clean and had a good crowd. There was laundry and bike rental on site, which was great (the bikes could use some repair, but they will get you where you want to go!). The location was good- near the grocery store, bars, restaurants, and local transportation, but it's a taxi ride from the bus station. Rooms were basic, but there was cable in the doubles! Would recommend for sure.

Very good hostel. We were lucky enough to get a private room in small apartment next to main hostel area. Staff very healpful but there was no hot water which didnt bother us too much as the weather was very hot at the time we stayed there.

It was a great place...very clean, friendly, artistic, and quiet. Close to all of the major attractions in Valpo. I recommend staying in the suite which has a private kitchen and bathroom!

Funky hostel with great communal areas to spend time in. The only minor problem was the noise from the outside streets which kept us up some nights.

Nice hotel, conveniently located uphill. There is a funicular just across the street, and the hostel has artsy decorations. When checking in the staff gives you all the keys so you can go in and out whenever you want without ringing a bell, yet it feels very safe. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing - it's not a party hostel. I stayed in a double room and it smelt moldy, the others seemed better. No breakfast but good wifi connection, laundry service (we got our clothes folded!). Recommended.

The hostal is a really interesting old building close to the main attractions. It is really quiet, even when busy - for some people this is great, for others a bit dull, but overall it is a very nice hostal. You make you own breakfast which after the poor food of other hostals was a blessing. A bit of music would add to the life of the place. Kitchen and dining area were really clean and cooking there was really easy.
