The hostel is located next to a park where people play drums and music every night until the morning. One night they played until 830am and only stopped because the police arrived. It was impossible to sleep. If sleep is important to you chose another hostel and area to stay in. The staff was nice. He had great suggestions and taking their wine tasting class is a highlight.
I stayed in Valparaiso for several weeks and I wish I would have stayed here the whole time! The room I shared w/ my partner was massive-akin to having a studio apartment (complete w/ kitchen and ensuite bathroom). It was very clean, in a great part of town next to tons of restaurants, a great brewery and two squares where live music plays regularly. The hostel felt very safe and the neighbourhood is the same with many interesting characters to add colour to your surroundings. Definitely visit!
The locationof this hostel is great on a main street for bars and cheap restaurants. About 10 main walk down to the plaza where the free walking tour take place, and a ascendor close by too. Peter on reception was really nice and helpful. He hosts a cheese and wine night every other nice, which is fab. WiFi is great, and communal area makes it easy to meet people. Only problem was the square outside can be noisy but great atmospher but we joined the on the 2nd night of our stay.
The hostel is located in the perfect spot to visit everything Valparaiso. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The only thing is being next to a park where every local ends up at 3 AM singing with music super loud every night until 6 AM, it got a bit annoying at times but other than that, the hostel is the perfect place to stay.

This is a charming hostel with a good vibe and friendly staff. Warning to light sleepers: during our stay in early January, the square immediately across the street was a hive of drummers, capoeira dancers and young revelers. This noisy gathering didn't disperse until 7 am our first night and about 5 am our second night. The hostel staff member told us the next morning that she had called the police, but that they never came. Not the hostel's fault we barely slept during our stay - but be warned
Great location! Friendly staff, awesome building!
Good location on Cummings St, which is a hopping spot for bars and nightlife. It is about a 5 minute bus or taxi ride to the bus station. The place was decently clean. No breakfast though. Also there is a trapeze!
There is a problem with the hostel feeling dank all the time, when I was there there was a huge amount of leaking water from the ceiling, probably a contributor, besides that it was nice.
The location and staff were all good and the other people very friendly.
We really liked this hostel. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, nice common area and good showers. Excellent location for exploring Valparaiso. There is a very small park area outside the front door where musicians and a dance group performed both nights we were there which was great fun.
The atmosphere in Casa Verde Limon is excellent and very welcoming. There are games, books, and computers for the guests to use, and a well equipped kitchen and individual lockers for your food items. The hostel is very close to a number of restaurants and markets as well as places to grab breakfast.

As has been said lots of times before cool house, good location and atmosphere. Shower/toilet facilities a bit odd - there's no hiding - and the 11pm curfew is understandable but the staff could make a bit more of an effort to smile/chat a bit more (Peter already does!). Also, not a 5 bed dorm and in a very small room so pretty cosy!
Good hostel in a nicely decorated building! Though because of the amount of double rooms more like a couples' hostel than a place to meet people. No breakfast is a plus, because of the excellent kitchen and big cheap supermarkets nearby!!!
Nice hostel. We were lucky to book a double room and end up in a small 3 bed apartment with separate kitchen/living room/ bathroom from main hostel. Could do with a bit more cleaning but recommend.
Really nice place stayed in a private room for 3 nights. First receptionist didn't give us a map but the next day when booking the room again a different receptions did and he explained were to go in town. Would stay here again if I visited valpo. Only thing that bothered is was the doorbell was awfully loud early in the morning, even though we were fairly far from it.

great hostal. excellent common areas. only issue, no lockers.
stayed in apartment which is in separate block to main hostel. apartment was nice and clean but can't really comment on main hostel
I loved this place. It was so... 'Valparaiso' jajaja. Common area was amazing, big communal table adjacent to nice big kitchen. Super helpful staff, I recommend the wine tasting! It's only a 5 min walk from a great bar/club strip. 700peso piscos were the best :) I am literally coming back to valparaiso just to be here again and play on the silks!!!
The wine tasting led by Peter was lots of fun! He's generous with the wine and cheese and has great taste! The staff is helpful providing tips and an extra umbrella on a rainy day. The rooms are quaint.
