Unfortunately the hostel was not very crowded so that I stayed alone in the dorm... But I think if there are more people it is one of the best hostels in San Jose.Unfortunately the hostel was not very crowded so that I stayed alone in the dorm... The staff was very nice and extremely helpful for finding my way around the city and describing activities to do. The dorm room was very spacious and clean and there was plenty of room around the hostel for lounging and cooking. So all the guidebooks etc say that San Pedro/Los Yoses is the hip/student area of San Jose. We explored the area thoroughly over a few days and were mostly disappointed with the nightlife and eating out. To be honest, San Jose was a pretty disappointing place to end our awesome trip through central america.
Casa Yoses was ok but not up to the hype that other reviewers mention. We had a private room with ensuite. It looked out to the rubbish bins and service area and was really noisy. So all the guidebooks etc say that San Pedro/Los Yoses is the hip/student area of San Jose.
