We really enjoyed our stay at the hostel and it was a good value. It was clean and had a great atmosphere. They had a neat area to the right as you walk in to chill at. Breakfast was delicious (whole wheat toast, coffee, fresh fruit including papaya, banana, watermelon and pineapple). Location was great and they had a security gaurd on watch throughout the night. The only complaints I had were the water pressure of the showers wasn't good and the staff wasn't too enthusiastic.

Amazing place to stay. Very calm and relaxed, supermarket just beside so perfect for cooking etc. A bit away from other places but I suppose everyone is spread out here. Cleaning ladies were awesome, always on the go, place was spotless. Some staff could be a bit nonchalant sometimes, but easy to look past that and keep pushing for what you need.

I really love when an affordable hostel is located right next to a grocerie store, couple places to eat and most importantly - the beach! Casa Zen hits all those marks. Its even a fairly quick 10-15min walk to the entry of town if you need to hit a bank. Nice free breakfast in the am. Decent wifi. The beach. Really close. No good for surfing unless on a really high tide, but safe for swimming. Watch out for the currents, they can pull you quickly if ur drunk. Showers were gutless but work

Good location, nice rooms and facilities but a VERY POOR breakfast. Only one slice of bread with some jam, fruits and coffee. It wasn't enough for us and also it started late, 8-10 am.

Great place to stay, a few minutes grom the beach and they have great communal areas to meet people, which is good if you are travelling alone. Free breakfast is great and they have a huge kitchen to cook food (supermarket is opposite) Its a bit of a walk to the closest atm though! Yoga classes and teachers were also great! Would definitely stay here again

Best night ambience in the area, with the dim hanging globes and multiple hammocks. Very chill, pretty quiet at all times, not a party hostel. Yoga would have been good, but it was too damn hot to move. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Fresh fruit breakfast, with coffee, was a great way to start the morning. Only inconvenience was the lack of water after 10pm or so… management decision. Really needed a shower after the beach. Was surprised to hear, the beach not safe at night?

Thank you very much for your review, we really appreciate, I´m really sorry, we have difficult time with water restrictions February, March and April, is the most dry month in this area. If you come here after May when the rain start little bit you will have water 24hrs. About the beach,we always recommend the people dont go on the night time. Pura Vida Julio Concepcion

This place had a serious vibe. The showers were cold, but it was tolerable because of the heat in Santa Teresa. The bathrooms were outside of the rooms. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good - fruit and toast. The yoga classes were wonderful. The beach was beautiful.
