This place has a wonderfully relaxing vibe. The design and facilities are excellent. They don't have hot water, but you don't really need it. The one downside is that it's a bit of a hike to the surf-able beach. It'll take you 15 minutes to walk there. I guess that's not really that bad except there are other places much closer.

We had a very good stay. Good mood in general. Clean hostel, good kitchen and friendly staff. Location is good for ex. surfing. Restaurants nearby. Yoga is nice! I recommend strongly.

I spent fantastic 3 days in Casa Zen. Everything was brilliant mainly due to yoga classes and overall atmosphere of the place. The hostel is nicely located close to the beach and close to a bus stop and a supermarket which was very convenient. The facilities are good but I would change the matrasses in the dorm room as the springs were poking a bit. Breakfast was fantastic too.

By far the best hostel I have ever stayed in from years of traveling! The front desk was awesome! Laundry done in one day and rooms cleaned daily. Very clean, great communal space, hammock heaven, delicious breakfast included, awesome yoga and exercise classes, 1 min to the gorgeous beach, delicious food in town and nearby beaches were beautiful. The town is very spread out so rent a bike or quad. Everything at Casa zen makes up for the lack of ac and hot water (which you don't want anyway)

I think this is one of the better hostels in Santa Teresa. It's outside of town so it's quieter and close to the beach but a bit of a trek into town. Staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful, just kinda there because they had to be. Dorms were nice with lockers and the place is constantly being kept clean. Bathrooms and showers we also a trek so go before bed. Nice breakfast included and great little lounge area.

lovely place with a great atmosphere. the beach is a 30 second walk away (great sunsets). the room gets cleaned everyday. overall a very clean hostel. two kitchens one is opened until 8pm and the smaller one is opened 24h. two restaurants right across the street. a cheap soda and a pizzeria steak house. both I would recommend. security guards at night. helpful staff. movie nights on some days. overall we loved our stay here. definitely recommend it!

Favorite place in Costa Rica!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the hostel and it was a good value. It was clean and had a great atmosphere. They had a neat area to the right as you walk in to chill at. Breakfast was delicious (whole wheat toast, coffee, fresh fruit including papaya, banana, watermelon and pineapple). Location was great and they had a security gaurd on watch throughout the night. The only complaints I had were the water pressure of the showers wasn't good and the staff wasn't too enthusiastic.

This hostel is very close to the beach, and the staff are very kind. The breakfast was included, which was nice. The room costs did seem a little high for the low season, and they were the only hostel that charged us an additional 10% tax, which we weren't aware of ahead of time. There is a safe/small locker in the room, which gave us peace of mind when we left the room. The showers were freezing cold, which was a bummer. Hot water is not a given in Costa Rica. I did a yoga class as well!

Amazing place to stay. Very calm and relaxed, supermarket just beside so perfect for cooking etc. A bit away from other places but I suppose everyone is spread out here. Cleaning ladies were awesome, always on the go, place was spotless. Some staff could be a bit nonchalant sometimes, but easy to look past that and keep pushing for what you need.
