We were so disappointed by our experience at Casa com Varanda. We had spent several days in Santa Teresa already, and were familiar with most of the area. This property is not in a very safe location, and it's quite far from public transportation sites (either by bus or mini-bus). The B&B itself is really just a woman's house with guest rooms available. The room we had was tiny and cramped. The bathroom was also very small and not clean. I would not recommend this location to anyone

Sorry if the guests did not appreciate the Casa com Varanda. I do not understand why they wrote that this property is not in a very safe location of Santa Teresa. We even have a security guardhouse 10 meters from the building with guard 24 hours a day. They said here is far from the local public transport, but in fact the bus 014 Paula Matos x Castelo stops in front of the Bed & Breakfast. This transport is circular to the city center where the main museums are. At the same point there is also stopping the mini van (Kombi) to the neighborhood of Gloria (subway station). Within 10 minutes walking you can catch buses to the beaches and relevant sites of Rio de Janeiro, as Corcovado, Sugar Loaf, and Botanical Gardens . The room with more than 12 square meters can not be considered small and tight. Yes, as they say, the Casa com Varanda is really just a woman's house with rooms available. The woman am I and I like to host and do the best I can so that guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay. We have a large and a small bathroom. Both are cleaned daily. I am glad that many other people have enjoyed staying here and expressed a desire to return. Best Regards, Delfina

very sweet bed & breakfast, familiar atmosphere, feels like at your own house! calm and friendly, only a few rooms. perfect place for a stay in rio -in the middle of its nicest nighbourhood!

From all of our central and south american trips Casa com Varanda, with Delfina as the hostess, was one of the cosiest and most cutest places we have stayed. The neighbourhood Santa Teresa is a quiet part in the city, full of hills and artists having their ateliers. From here out, you can explore the city very easily by bus. The house is clean and it has a lot of character. Delfina will aswer all your questions regarding the possibilities of the city. And you will have a very nice breakfast.
