It was the staff and the relaxed atmosphere that made this place so enjoyable when there's really not much around to do. I loved the family feel of the delicious dinners, and you could tell that everyone loved working there. They really wanted to make it enjoyable for the guests.

One of the best hostel I've ever stayed. Pedro!!!!! He is really fun and amazing guy! He can speak a variety of language - He learnt Korean too! how nice! The bed is really clean. Though the city didn't have many things to see, this hostel made my stay in Faro absolutely great!

The beach is quite far from the Hostel (8 km), but that's not the Hostel's fault! The area around Lagos is more beautiful than Faro, but the coast is still very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful, lots of common activities and a decent breakfast is included.

Bom dia, I only spent 1 night but I've been very pleased to have chosen this hostel. Very friendly & helpful staff. Excellent showers in perfect state. Pleasant atmosphere, very young and relax. Relaxed kitchen/breakfast area. Old building but it gives the pleasure of an authentic big house of the past. All by all ok. Would come back & recommend it.

The best thing about Casa d'Alagoa is the whole atmosphere. They organise also group meals and going out by night in Faro, improving even more the experience of staying there.

A very nice hostel. Actually one of the nicest I've been too. If not THE nicest ;) Honestly, a great house, and a very chilled and balanced atmosphere, especially with the staff. I really liked the big board in the living room about every city you could possibly go to from Faro including train and bus times - and the dinner which is cooked by a staff member every evening. Food is what holds one and brings people together, well done Casa d'Alagoa ;)

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, the evening meals they put on are not to be missed. Seems to be good for organised night life as well although I didn't partake of that. Terrific atmosphere and a good multinational guest list. It's worth going to Faro just to stay there. Only whinge is that I like to lock up my rucksack within the dorm, and the wooden chests they provide can't be locked. A hasp on these and I'd rate it 100%.

Loved it here!

Great location, confortable beds and okay showers. Only thing missing is air con - room got very hot and it is very loud leaving doors open to road outside. Was able to hire bikes and also join in on hostel dinner and happy hour. Would recommend!

Great hostel, great location. No air con in the rooms, lots of add ons like towels and a (great) dinner every night. You can buy beers and snacks etc in the hostel. Showers missing a bit of water pressure. Lovely hostel really, but maybe a bit large and impersonal. Enjoyed my stay.

Good atmosphere and easy to make friends with group dinners every night. Faro is a bit of a ghost town but really pretty.

Clean. Nicely set out hostel. No air con though, just a fan so very hot in summer

Beautiful building with big kitchen, rooftop terrace and common areas to chill. Bedrooms were big and clean, and wifi was pretty good. Bathrooms could be updated though, the toilets and shower systems were old fashioned. However, had a lovely stay and recommend going to the dinner to meet other travellers!

Lives up to everything it states- the rooms were spacious and clean, plenty of bathrooms with amazing space to hang towels/clothes etc, the staff were all super friendly and the hostel has a great free area to chill out and relax. Its extremely close to everything in Faro. Highly recommend this hostel
