The group dinner is a great idea, a great way to meet other travelers, though wont win any michelin star awards. Drinks on site were overpriced and the rooms were fine but seemed a little expensive for the area and compared to other hostels and the breakfast was very basic. The staff were excellent. Overall, a good hostel.

Owner Comment (Show)
This review is not about Casa das Laranjeiras: we don't make group dinners, we don't serve drinks either expensive or cheap, we are not a expensive guesthouse and we don't serve breakfast. But the staff is good as well as the property!

Very nice and friendly atmosphere. It rather feels like staying at a friends place than in a hostel. Room was lovely furnished and very clean. Only recommendation would be to provide heaters during the cold month (December/January) as the rooms are really very cold.
