Casa de la gringa is a tastefully designed bohemian styled hostel located minutes from the San blas square. The rooms were clean and spacious and beds were warm . Staff were attentive , helpful and manned the hostel 24 /7 so one need not worry about being locked out when arriving at odd hours. We went for a 4 day trek and the hostel allowed us to leave our luggage at their compound . The only hiccup was the temperamental hot showers which took long time ( few minutes) to warm up if at all.

We stayed in a private twin room. The actual room and general facilities were ok, but there was a lack of atmosphere. This may have been due to everyone being older hippies. One evening at 7:30pm, we were outside our own private room talking and were told by another guest to "be more mindful".
