I had a Good time and despite booking through hostel world, when I arrived to Casa del Mar, the owner had NO record or confirmation of my reservation. This was one of the busiest weeks in Latin America and she was completely booked from her own reservations. Thankfully I had 2 different copies of my online reservation confirmation from hostel world. The owner ended up letting me stay there for the full amount of days because it was the fault of hostel world for not communicating correctly

A little away from it all right across from the beach. Very relaxed and lovely staff. Less information about all the happenings around town than a bigger hostel, but a wonderful place to stay to enjoy where you are.

Nice hostel, fun owner, close to the beach on a pretty quiet street. The breakfast is not that great though, plain toast and coffee which they make the day before.

Casa del Mar was my home in San Juan del Sur. Mar is such a lively and wonderful women (though you may not get that if you don´t speak spanish, because there is no english spoken by the staff here). She was so helpful y whole stay and really welcomed me to her casa. I will stay here a million times for a true nica san juan expirience.

this hostel is perfectly located and the owner is shuch a nice person.... all the people that we meet there were really cool travelers, you could feel the good vibe in the atmosphere. I would just recomend more staff to have all the facilities more clean but nothing that you can not leave with ..... I would come back to this same place....

Absolutely loved this place. The room was comfortable. Cross the street and you're on the beach. Lockers in room. Toast/butter/jelly/coffee included for breakfast. Met some really cool people there and had a total blast! Thank you so much!!!

Good value for sure. They didn't even put their prices up for Xmas and New Year - everyone else did! A bit small and quiet for my tastes - but sometimes it's good to go and party knowing that you're going to be able to sleep. Oh, awful dorm bunks beds though. Seriously some of, if not THE worst on my year trip. But, again, it's cheap , so I guess you get what you pay for. :-)
