The atmosphere at Casa del Sol was very warm and friendly and prices were very reasonable. I was truly blown away by how helpful and friendly the staff was here. The owner Phillipe literally gave me the shirt off his back when I was going to the Futbol game wearing a shirt I was not suppose to be wearing so i could get in. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and would also stay there again when I return to Medellin. By far the best hostel experience I've ever had. Felt very at home. Extremely relaxing atmosphere and the best hosts. Great neighborhood to be in. Felt very safe. This has been the best hostel I've been to after 5 countries. Very laid back and comfortable. Extremely helpful owners who go out with you if they can and invite you places. There was an awesome BBQ. We stayed in the double w/o the bathroom. It smelled of mildew. The place had good common areas, which is helpful if you have the misfortune of staying in that room. Also, the beds are like rocks and the pillow like mush. The private with a bathroom is really That being said, I meet really cool people there. The staff is very nice but they speak little English. This place is beyond awesome, it´s amazing! The neighborhood is beautiful and the hostel does not even feel nor look like a typicial hostel, it´s more of a cozy beautiful home with funky cool paintings. The train is only 2 blocks away and you have tons of restaurants and supermarkets at your disposal. The staff is super cool, they go out of their way to help you out. They double booked and therefore didn't have the room I reserved.
