Good friendly staff, this was my second time visiting, and I am always glad to stay there at the hostel!

Single room was very small with no windows (only slats in doors) - looked like former bathroom changed to room, and there were lots of mosquitoes at night (not pleasant with the dengue fewer around...). But it was very cheap for Ipanema (safe and nice neighbourhood). Staff was friendly and helpful and location excellent - safe area, close to the beach and the subway, right next to the per kilo restaurant! I enjoyed my stay here, only the room was depressing and mosquitoes bothering.

1) The shower mostly did not work, 2) no lock was provided for our bedroom of 6 persons, 3) the front door would only open from the inside with a key which I consider a fire hazard.

Good location in a little street with 7 hostels. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The hostel is in a good and safe neighbourhood and you can walk to Ipanema beach in just a few minutes. Breakfast is simple, but okay, and there is more than enough. The people at the reception are very nice and helpfull. However, don`t expect any comfort. The beds in the 6beds dorms are very simple and there are three above each other. The shower works more or less and the whole building could use a refurbishment.

We asked for a private double room and we were sent to an apartment more than one block away from the hostel itself. we didn´t have there the offered facilities such as WiFi or Breakfast. In addition, I received a message from my family and they never told me about it, they told me it was because they haven´t seen me (we didn´t have breakfast there because it was poor) and they were not capable of leaving me a note at least in the apartment they sent us and I miss my appointment because of that

2nd time i m staying in this hostel. Very good value for money, calm even if surrounded by other hostels and clean. Private rooms have even some charm...

Very good hostel, clean, safe and helpful. If the dorms are full it lacks a bit of bag space but no issues. Highly recommend.

We order a private room in a hostel as we thought it would be good to meet some people on holiday as well, well if you want this don't stay here. We arrived and straight away was taken 3 blocks down the road to a private apartment. Things only got worse when we were told the place didn't ave air conditioning! With evening heat of 23-27 degrees even the Favelas have air conditioning, a ceiling fan really won't keep you cool! We stayed before this place at O Veleiro B&B in Botafogo, much nicer.

I stayed in the private double ensuite and it was certainly good enough for people who 'don't do' hostels. Load of shelving space, clean room and good shower. The only downside is that this room was not in the hostel itself but in an apartment down the road therefore there was NO INTERNET IN THE APARTMENT. However you can use the internet in the hostel and they even let us shower in the hostel after our check out time before we went to the airport. The staff are EXCELLENT. Highly recommended

BED BUGS! and they didn't even treat them! They just put us in a new room for the last night of our 4. We were told to send an email to the boss - who never replied. So we just sucked it up and got on with our trip. We pitty the next couple that stays in that room - it's the one directly above the reception.

Great location and helpful staff. Good breakfast - although juice would be a welcome addition. Social atmosphere as lots of hostels down the same alley so lots of mingling amongst them. And casa6 was the best down the alley. But I wish some of the rooms had air-con.
