Louigina was a perfect unobtrusive hostess. We stayed in 3 different rooms at different stages of our time in Ecuador and each was lovely. Coming back to Casapaxi felt like coming home. The house is beautiful and had been recommended by my daughter who had stayed there some years before. Clearly it appeals to young and old alike. I hope we will return and have more time to talk to Louigina about her life and about her experiences of Ecuador.

Loved it. Much more like a home than a hostel. If you want lots of people/going out it's not for you. But if you want a home to relax in, it's amazing. Location is a bit out (30min walk). Make the taxi use a meter & it should be $1.50-2.50 to get most places. Lots of shops near. Don't use laundrette DOWN the hill! Shrunk and tore clothes.
Casapaxi is great! Run by a friendly and personable host, this is a very beautiful house turned into a quiet, comfortable, cozy lodging with private rooms at a great price. The other guests were staying at a long time basis, but we had several great nights of rest here. Breakfast is not included but there is a kitchen for common use, and some tiendas nearby where you can buy things. Literally the only con is the location a bit away from the city center, but OTHO it's close to the teleferico :)
