The hostel itself was great - we had a cute little private room with balcony access. There was only two toilets and one shower in the upstairs part though, so that was inconvenient. The staff was really great - JoJo was very friendly and helpful to us. If you're looking for a hostel that's close to partying/nightlife, this is definitely the one. If you're not, be prepared to not sleep on the weekends because it seemed like the music and craziness never stopped. Overall, it was a great stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights, and had a great time. The location being on the upper end of Long Street is great, since you can get to the bars and restaurants on Long by just walking, and can escape Long pretty easily as well if you want to visit other areas. The staff is always available for any of your needs; i never had to wait for anything or chase anyone down. For the price, i cant imagine you could do much better.

For some reason people kept putting dishes away in the kitchen at 5 AM?

staff are awesome, very friendly & helpful all the time. I stayed in a private room so can't speak of dorms, but the kitchen is really big & fully equipped, the patio outside is awesome, & there's a sitting area for eating/socializing while cooking, as well as a TV area with couch. it's right near the party street, so everything is close & walking distance. would recommend

Very helpful staff (available 24/7), cute cat, secure (safe + gate with code). Would be nice if guests could put away their dishes once they're clean (when they think of cleaning them) bc the sink was always packed full with heaps of them and the employees had to do it themselves...

A really fun and secure hostel, right on Long Street where things are happening. It could use a bit of a touch-up here and there, but otherwise, a really great value for the money.

I liked this hostel, but what you can improve is the cleanliness in the common rooms.

Great start to our South African trip at this hostel. Facilities are great and staff are really helpful (booked us a great deal on a shark dive). John is an absolute hero! Location is perfect just at the top of long street. Recommend to anyone. Phil

Very welcoming and competent staff, a great location. The flaws came from the facilities : the room had only one plug behind a bed, which was not practical at all. A fan on the celling would have been better. The beds made a lot of noise. A lack of intimacy in the toilets. Otherwise everything was good.

Awesome location, decent rooms. Only complaint was one of the older staffers (Eastern European accent) was not very helpful. Asked for directions in the morning after checking in he gave me very vague and essentially useless directions/advice. Ended up asking a cabbie who contradicted much of what he told me and was a lot more helpful.

Great place in the calm section of Long Street, which means you are close to everything but still get your good night sleep. Staff was really helpful when we missed our bus, dropped the credit card and came back to them with R5 in our pockets. We still got to stay the night and pay the next day instead. A great place with nice rooms and facilities. Recommended!!

Great location on Long Street, but quite enough in the evening. Good clean facilities, easy to self cater. Friendly staff

The staff was great, extremely helpful at all times of the day/night. The dorm on the bottom floor had a window without the glass or shutter at the very top, which made it really cold in the room. Also, the smell of cigarettes would sometimes come into the room because of that window. Someone please fix this! Otherwise, I had a great stay here.
