Room quite damp, and quite a few ants. Hotel served its purpose, but is a bit lonely and quiet - furthest from the main drag.

Basic yet friendly hotel slightly away from the business of Catba. Good value for money meals but tour bookings a little pricey compared to other agents.

Good value for your money. A little bit of a walk from the waterfront but you're closer to local eateries. Room was cleaned and towels were daily. Not much of a backpackers scene if that's what you're looking for.

A very good value family run guest house just up the hill from the sea front. Attentive staff who are very helpful.

Generally a bland hostel. Good: Pretty Avg on all points. Bad: Location (up a hill) Overall: Just a bland hostel. Not really bad, but unlike nothing stands out as good either. Far away from town (Tiny town though so its only a 10 min walk up a dark hill, but most other places are eight on boardwalk)

More of a basic hotel than a Hostel. Location is away from the waterfront along a road which inclines upwards and is about 300m on the left. Not to be confused with the Catba Hotel to which the townspeople will direct you if you ask. I believe it is changing its name to the Huong Ly Hotel but I don't suppose the townspeople will know that name either. An indication of its popularity is that I was unable to extend my stay by one night as they were fully booked.

Probably the best value for money you can find in Vietnam!! Not only for accommodation, but also for drinks in the lounge! Staff are willing to help all the time! Rooms are spacious and clean with their own bathroom!! We booked for 2 days and hired a motorbike for the first day! As we had to go back to work for an emergency, the hostel cancelled our second night at no extra cost, plus gave us a discount on the bike's price!! Definitely the way to treat the client!! Will for sure stay again!!

You can't get a better place for 4 USD per night! Nice and clean rooms with spacious beds, A/C and fan. The atmosphere is great because of the nice and welcoming staff. They are also very helpful in organizing transportation and tours. You can have breakfast whenever you want, even at night times if you have to leave early. There is no place with a better value for money in Vietnam!

Excellent hotel with big comfortable rooms, and none of the bugs or rodents that I heard guests of other hotels in Cat Ba complain about. Staff were extremely helpful -- especially Hieu , whose boat tour was great, and whose no-bullshit advice and recommendations were much appreciated. We rented scooters from the hotel, and they were good and reasonably priced. Everything was hassle-free. You should definitely stay here if you're heading to Cat Ba.

A good hostel, we hired a moped from here and canoes which we found was the cheapest. Had lunch here and it was nice and fresh.

The only issue I had was that upon returning to my room one day, I found the door wide open, the staff keys still hanging on the door, and not a soul in sight either in the room or in the hall. Luckily, all of my things were still in the room. Aside from that, everything else was okay.

The hotel was ok. The beds did no have sheets only blankets which was rather strange especially as it was quite hot. The towels were not very clean. Overall it was a good enough place for a few days but it lacked character.

Stayed 1 night for Halong tour. Overall, I highly recommend choosing this hostel when you need a place just to sleep! The location(10 mins away from Catba-dock) is quite far from noise helping u sleep tight. Others? "modest" at least you will not get annoyed.

Very good hostel with all the basic facilities ie: wifi, breakfast and very helpful staff. Even though we visited in the winter, it was fun. definitely going there again during the summer.
