Caterina Hostel & Guesthouse Reviews

My stay was really good. I spent 4 days there with some friends and I really enjoyed it. For me the best thing is that is quite close to city center and Nyugati rail station, so we could go by foot to almost everywhere. Also, the staff gives you breakfast for free (toasts, coffee, tea). The atmosphere was good and clean, and the staff was really nice. The only bad things are that it's on a 3rd floor without elevator and that my room hadn't lockers to save the luggage. I enjoyed the hostel.

Generally a good place to sleep. I was surprised to find that my dorm room didn't have a lock to it (or at least one I could engage). Close to Western Railway Station, about 10 minutes by foot, and located between 3 good areas for tourism: City Park and Heroes' Square to the north, the Danube and Margaret Island to the west, and the Old Town to the south; at any rate, Budapest is still a large city so even very well-situated places are a good walk away from one attraction or another.

We slept in the apartment and in the hostel so we could even compare where is better to stay. Basicaly we preferred double rooms ensuite which were realy nice and clean. Thers even seperate entrance to them. Pictures on the website show exactly how this rooms look like. The yellow one is an apartment and others are located in the hostel. The staff is really nice and helpfull. If we have to make decision where to stay again we would definately stay at Caterina!

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at! I felt right at home with the warm and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again!

For the price we paid, we got a basic but clean room that met all our requirements for one night. Despite being on a busy street, it was unbelievably quiet inside the hostel! I cannot recall the name of the lady at the hostel, she had short red hair - she was wonderful! She gave us all sorts of recommendations and advice for our second day in Budapest. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to clean up the stairway upto the hostel. It's dirty and gives a very bad first impression.

We didn't stay in the hostel itsself, but in an appartment. Our first impression was very good. But the appartment was very dirty! - There were 2 leak's - when we walked barefoot we could feel the nasty ground - the television didn't work - the rolling shutter was stuck - there were holes in the blankets (I didn't knew what was the front or backside to put my duvet in it) But the staff was friendly.

it was perfectly located, not expensive at all. the staff is SO nice and the atmosphere was great. Im very greatfull!!

Was very nice hostel. Very clean and good staff. It is located in a good area. We had a little kitchen to our own very useful.

Very good hostel. Very friendly, with excellent rooms, nice view, confortable and clean toilets. The only defect: the beds are not in the same level of the rest of the stuff.

Location is great. But, there is no personal locker in the dorm.

Nice Hostel. The staff was excellent and very obliging. We felt very comfortable. Although it is placed on a huge street, it is calm. We had a very good stay.

Thank You for having us in the Heart of Budapest. Climbing those stairs more than four times a day, is the only negative thing i can come 2 think of. (well the WiFi wasnt the fastest but our mission wasn´t staying indoors surfing all Day...) All things concidered if/when we return to Budapest, we'll make shure to contact Caterina first.
