Cebu Guesthouse Reviews

Been using HostelWorld for a few years and that was the biggest positive surprise I had so far. The resort is brand new with awesomely awesome pool and bar. The food is great and the staff can assist you whenever possible. Even the scooters you can rent are new :) The only disadvantage is the location, but if you want to stay 10 minutes ride away from Alona beach this is the place.

Absolutely disgusting...don't even try to take a shower, you'll be dirtier when you come out than when you got in! Staff is friendly enough but they really ought to clean the place at least once a week.

Stayed in the girl's dorm which was fine, a few long hairs on my sheets though... Shower wasn't working so had to use a bucket instead. Was interesting. Only stayed a night as had a late flight into Cebu and an early ferry to Bohol.

This guesthouse was about what I expected for the price. It was comfortable to walk around in and the staff were alright but not necessarily helpful (playing games on a computer most of the time). The bunks were comfortable enough but the male dorm reeked of urine (could have just been old wood and the stinky backpackers that filled it). I would stay again because of the price and convenience of the port being near but there isn't really much around other than a Jollibee's.

A great place to stop over if you happen to visit Cebu. Close to port and lots of shops around. Nice massage over the corner and Jollibee as a bonus!

Hostel is far away from any of the tourist spots in Cebu city, but if you look for a cheap place where you can meet fellow travellers, this is it.

When I read reviews from other travellers, I wonder if any of them have any standards at all. The prices are way too high for a disgusting moldy room, that felt more like a prison cell than a guesthouse room. We stayed only one night. Even though we are travelling low budget, we have minimum standards. The area doesn't seem safe as they have armed guards at the door 24/7. For what they offer, this guesthouse should cut their prices by 50-75%. Better places are available near by.

Nice hostel for meeting other travellers. Very handy for nightlife, large shopping precincts and only a short taxi ride away from the port, bus stations and airport.

yes, I will go back and stay at the Cebu Guesthouse as it is very convenient and centrally located.

Very good location. Close to airport and almost in the center of the city. Good responsive staff. We just spent one night here and we had good rest. We did not have air conditioner system. There was fan only and it was sufficient. The security officer helped us to catch taxi.

Good hostel, reasonably handy for the airport. ATMs, eateries, close by. Short taxi ride to busterminals.

I arranged airport pick-up for my late arrival but it didn't arrive. When I finally got to my room I heard another guest arguing with a prostitute and demanding his money back for about half an hour, all within earshot of the 'security guard' downstairs who did nothing. I guess it's that kind of place. Pretty dodgy street too, the other reviews didn't give me any idea about that - maybe this is one for the old guys with loose morals rather than backpackers.

It's not the cleanest place, but for the price and the location it's really good. The staff were really helpful with information about getting around Cebu. Also a nice place to chill in the evenings with a beer!

This hostel was perfectly located for Sinulog festival... However our room was the size of a closet and the shower on our floor (ground floor) was more like a hose and a bucket of water. Dorms looked better than private rooms. Works for a couple of days but I wouldn't stay there again.

The facilities are very old. Especially the bathroom. Not worth it.

Cebu Guesthouses's facilities were very dirty. The bathroom was extremely dirty with no toilet paper. The property needs to be updated and cleaned if they want better service.

The place was very dirty, it seems - very disappointed,. the location was good but extremely poor service. Good thing you get to meet other travelers.

Very small room, without window:( it was very very hot and were not sleep well:( only for 1 night
