you pay too much for this type of living. it would have been slightly better if you were served breakfast in the morning.. there were some drug abusers checked in aswell and it didnt help to ease the stay. in fact the area around is alot of homeless people - wouldnt feel safe beeing outside during the night. rooms were ok. the wifi didnt reach to the upper levels so internet is only available in the lobby.

Renovate the rooms please and make a proper shower area in the bathrooms. The old bedding should be replaced as well. The efficiency of front desk staff need to be improved. The wifi should be available at rooms but not only the lobby.

would be a good idea if they put that the room has shared bathroom, we booked and it said "Private Shared Bathroom" so we weren't sure, it ended up being shared, but at least they were always clean. However the bed itself was another story with all the bed bugs in it.

Great stay here-cheap,clean and safe. However,do check the location before booking-the surrounding street\'s are full of homeless people, making it pretty dodgy both during the day and night. The Hotel itself is safe and the staff were fantastic! However, have your wits about you and watch your own safety. If you don\'t want to be constantly harassed on the street-or outside the Hotel-do not stay here! Most of the tourist site\'s are not near here and downtown L.A.can be confronting and dangerous!

Location was good. In downtown LA, a walk away from the Staples Center and near Metro/Pharmacy/Food. No breakfast but $1 oatmeal in Cafe and other inexpensive options. Bagels, sandwiches, crisps. Staff quite friendly and a security guard always in lobby so good security. Shared bathrooms were very rarely all occupied and a toilet/sink/mirror in our room was convenient. No wireless in rooms is a bit annoying but the shared area downstairs was alright. However the Internet was sometimes dodgy.

The name Cecil Hotel is misleading because it's more of a hostel. But the value is good. Also, they took a very long time to check-in.

The outside of the hotel gives you a false sense of the place, as it has average character inside, but I'll say the hotel is clean & tidy. The staff don't really go out of their way to help, and I get the feeling that they do not really know that much in regards to places to go & things to do in LA for guests. They just check guests in and out.. The rooms are clean, but are not en suite so that means there are showers & toilets at the end of every corridor. The security guard is not polite
