we are pensioners and it was a bit to basic for us.and there were lots of twenty year olds living it up.sorry but not for us

It's a big hostel, and that's why the kitchen some parts of the day can be a chaos. The staff was very helpful because we arrived when the reception was closed, but they can leave our key in our private room without any problems to do that. When you are in a route travelling around all the country you don't know what time you'll arrive to sleep. Be careful in NZ. We found some places to be which don't allow us to arrive whenever we want. That's why, here in Paihia, was a plus for Centabay Lodge
