first i booked this hostel only for one nite than i decided to stay longer...good location and this is best place to meet other cool travellers.. and cheap price of course

Koh Phi Phi Don is over-rated. The best beach isn't even on this island...It is on Koh Phi Phi Lay. However, a day trip to Koh Phi Phi Lay will get you to the Decaprio "Thw Beach" movie beach. In the morning it is crowded w toirist and in the afternoon low tide sucks all the water out to sea....Just like the beaches on Koh Phi Phi Don (accomodations island). Bring your own toilet paper to this hostel, they only provide micro small pink napkins located outside the toilets. Cold showers! OK

Overall I enjoyed my stay here, for 3 nights. It had a great location in the centre of the area with bars and restaurants, yet relatively quiet as it was down a side street. The security during the day needs improving as dorm doors have no locks!

This hostel is in a good location however this is the only positive about this place. The dorm had a horrible, rotting, damp smell to it, while the sheets were covered in stains. The bathrooms were also damp and unclean. Stayed here two nights before moving to a different place due to the smell!

Good wifi, great location,

The location of the hostel is good, but that is the only positive expect for me. It was not possible to lock any doors (both for the room and the bathroom), the owner wasn't very enthousiastic about receiving guests, the cleaning person comes into the room around 10 times spread over 3 hours, which makes it rather difficult to get some sleep... However, I heard only bad stories about other hostels at Phi Phi as well, so maybe this one is still ok compared to the others.

DO NOT STAY HERE! They have BED BUGS! The owner didn't seem fussed at all by the fact that several people were complaining of bed bugs and bites.

Thanks for the review, but we've never had any problems with bedbugs until this person had been with us a few nights. By his own admission they were in his bag, which would suggest he brought them here from the last place or places that he stayed at. We care about all our guests comfort during their stay so for that reason we closed the whole building for 4 days and had professional pest controllers come in and do their work. We are now fully open again without any more problems.

This was a plesant enough hostel in a great location. All the bars and nightlife are just a short walk away. The bathrooms could have used some attention in terms of cleanliness, but you get what you pay for. Note that the AC is turned off from 11am to 6pm, so the rooms can get a little muggy. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Cleaners came in at least 3 times a day, we were not able to use the shower at one point because they had decided to retile at 4pm when everyone got back from the beach. Found the guy running it to be unwelcoming. Also had a blood stain on my pillow. Good location and very cheap for the island but would only stay there is everywhere else was full.

Have been to this hostel a few times now and I'm always really happy with my stay here! Really good place for a backpacker, can't say anything bad about this place.

I really enjoyed my time here, but thats largely to do with the people in my dorm (14) there is a seriously lack of bathrooms and the water pressure of the shower is dreadful but you get what you pay for. I've stayed in much nicer cheaper hostels but Phi Phi is expensive in itself so standard is to be expected. Wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here, unless you're looking for somewhere quiet or looking for a good nights sleep!

Alright bedrooms, not very sociable and only one toilet/shower which opens up in view of the street. There was only running water sometimes- others nothing. Can get equally good hostels for 150-200b if you look.

Thanks for the review. A couple of points though, of course we have more than 1 bathroom (we have 4). As for the water, when these people were here a few days ago one evening the water was on and off but it took us less than 1 HOUR to fix, so saying there was only running water sometimes and others nothing is a bit unfair and a bit of an exaggeration. As for finding similar hostels for 150-200, maybe in chiang mai but certainly not on an island like phi phi.

The first night we stayed here everything seemed fine. The hostel is in a pretty good location and our room was decent with its own bathroom. The second night the water stopped working and we realized there were not enough bathrooms to accommodate the whole hostel. It took 2.5 hours before we could shower and even than it was just enough water to rinse off. Also people kept walking into our room (that didn't lock) hoping to use our bathroom.

Great hostel, fantastic value for money. Couldn't be any more central, just a minutes walk to the beach and to the bars. I stayed here for 2 weeks last summer and 2 weeks this summer, and no doubt will be back again! Great place to stay if you are looking to meet other backpackers. The staff are all fantastic... really friendly and helpful and happy to help you out with whatever you need.

Great location, easy to meet people, dingy bathrooms, A/C only on from 6pm-11am in the rooms

One bathroom for like 20 people?!

We have 4 bathrooms, 1 in the 12 bedroom, 1 in one of the 6 bedrooms, 1 in one of the 4 bedrooms and 1 in reception which is shared by people from the other 2 rooms (a 6 bedroom and a 4 bedroom), but when you book on hostelworld it says clearly which rooms have bathrooms and which don't. Thanks
