You get what you pay for in terms of breakfast and beer--very simple. Staff are very nice and honest, I was charged twice for a room and they took care of calling their bank and getting me a refund, etc. Good location and bargain. Would stay again.

Lively hostel, in the heart of the old quarter. Staff not always clear, they tend to leave details to the last sec or not say them at all. Thank god my friends told me that in feb bus prices rises,,or else id have paid more than double price.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and knew how to direct me around Hanoi. Big rooms, comfy bed, secure lockers and the bar downstairs is great for lone travellers. Also, they have a free happy hour and they can take you to other bars for a dance. I would definitely recommend staying here. I love Troy (the Vietnamese owner), v nice guy and speaks perfect English. Also, Halong Bay trip was good. Only negative, bus company they booked for me to go to Hoi An with took 26 hours, not 14 hours

Central Backpacker's Hostel was a brilliant place to stay! We had a great time there, the atmosphere was always up-beat and fun and the staff were friendly and trustworthy. They made it very easy for us by helping us book tours and looking after our best interests in terms of value-for-money. There was always someone looking to party - we loved that! Would definitely stay again :)

One of my favorite hostels in my stay in Vietnam. Staff were very helpful setting up tours and whatnot, the bar made for a perfect location to meet people and have a great time. I was on the 5th floor so the noise from the bar didn't bother me, but I heard that at lower floors it was noticable. Bar closes at 12 though. You might sleep a little less than you expected, but overall I think this was a great hostel to stay at.

Comfortable privet room. Staff great and know how to make a party! Very well located in the old town. My only complaint, my room was located at the front of the hostel on the first floor. At night the shutters are closed and opened each time someone comes in. Therefor they were going up and down all night past my window, fairly noisey! Being a light sleeper I didn't get much sleep!! Minor complaint though, I think it would only affect that room. All in all a great place to stay.

This was by and away the best hostel I stayed at in Vietnam. The location is perfect. The staff are incredibly friendly and helped with literally everything we needed (open bus tickets, SIM cards, motorbike rentals, restauarant suggestions - you name it). The beer happy hour seems like it'd be over the top, but it's honestly a great way for the whole hostel to convene after a long day and wind down or start a night out. Best hostel for value and for meeting people in Vietnam, hands down.

I stayed one night here and the place was excellent. They also helped us with our questions and helped us to call the bus company for the bus schedule as well as calling a cab for us. Airport transfer also went smoothly even though our flight had been delayed by an hour. Great service!

Enjoyed staying at this hostel in Hanoi. Clean enough, good place to meet other backpackers, and the hot showers (24 h hot water) were a nice relief from the Hanoi cold in early January. Not really a partyplace and the breakfast is nothing to get superexcited about, but for 5 dollars a night Central Backpackers offers good value for money and the location is ideal.

Just loved it here - especially the free funny tasting beer.... cannot be beaten! Was a wonderful hostel, clean rooms and great atmosphere. The staff were something else, they even let us have the complementary breakfast before we booked in... BONUS! It is quite central once you learn your way around. It isn't in the 'party area' but it isn't far off and sometimes it's nice to know that you can sleep a little earlier if you want to

Great bahtrooms and clean beds, but the common areas are no good, I had an easier time talking to people in my room than there. One of the rooms is mostly an anti-social internet room the other always has really loud music blaring and it's not a fun place to sit and chat, or do anything really. Also, whatever you do, don't stay in room 4!! There's a serious bed bug infestation in that room, and I'm sorry to say, but the spraying they were doing isn't going to kill everything off.

excellent value of money, if you want to party every night this is definitely the place you should stay. Free beer hour is great and the staff is very very helpful and friendly. Wifi is working everywhere but the bathroom could be cleaner.

For 5 usd a day it's a real bargain, you get a decent bed, free breakfast, free wifi and free beer from 7 pm to 8 pm, nice staff especially Van she is really lovely. The only minor problem is that people never lock the room door, so put your valuable in the provided locker and don't be stupid, lock your door, it's for your security! I will definitely come back!
