pretty ok to sleep in. the stairs are hell, and it's pretty steep to claim, the reception is way too narrow. but it's overall ok.

Great location, staff were very ...mixed. some friendly...some not so. IF you cant handle a dirt hostel KEEP AWAY! also they really need to sort out their dining/ lobby area! its so cramped! breakfast (which isnt great) off ur knee surround by what seems like 1000s of people checking in and out isnt a great way to start the day

The location was obscure and difficult to find at first once found, it was in a great location. Near everything you wanted to see in Amsterdam. The staff were great and helpful with getting you acquainted with the city. The rooms were clean and quiet. It is a good place to stay if you want to keep the party in Amsterdam and not in where you are staying. The only issue was leaving my bag after I had checked out and wanted to explore the city. I would of had to leave my bag in the open lobby

First and foremost, this hostel is right in the center of Amsterdam so its a close walk to everything. The dorm and bathroom were actually very clean; I was impressed. There are adequate lockers in the rooms that you can use for free with your own lock, which is nice. Nothing else is really included free and there is no kitchen or common room to cook or spread out in and relax. Final note: the stairs going up to check in are extremely steep (be careful).

Difficult to find if you follow the hostel's instructions. Poor facilities that could use some renovation. Not a bad place to stay but for the money it was a disappointment.

Did not like this hostel. He does not have to heat water. The staff is bad: pien always a credential to enter or exit. Were ushered to my room to a drunk guy.

The location was fantastic. People may say that it's difficult to find but the directions included make sense once you get to Dam Street. No common room which made meeting people difficult. Dorms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It was cold at night but the duvets included are more than enough to keep you warm.

The location is great. While there is not a common area the room I stayed in had a lot of space that allowed for people within the room to gather and we did. You are literally two blocks from the red light district. It's about 15 minutes walk to the train station. The beds were a bit narrow and they had tons of power outlets in the room just all in one location.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Bathroom in the room, locker costs 3 euros more. Convenient location, walking from centraal station took only ~10 mins.

I really liked staying at Central Station Hostel primarily because of its perfect location (right off Dam Square) and also because it's really worth the money. The only thing that I think it lacked (as other people had already said) is a common area for us to socialize with other travelers. Single travelers may feel a bit lonely if they are not lucky enough to have cool roommates like I did. The staff is pretty flexible and understanding, especially Rachid, who I spent more time with.

While very difficult to find at first, this hostel is tucked right behind Dam square and next to the Red Light District. Beds were very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was average in terms of cleanliness, but that's assumed when sharing with 9 other people. Staff was very nice and willing to help us locate things to do or restaurants. Watch out for the staircase!

they have really good staff in there. they all want to help and speak with you. they know what tourists wants. only from is they dont have kitchen and it derease the atmosphere. usually you can meet with people and speak with people in kitchen but in this they dont have. they are changing the bedspread like every day. rooms are very clean and large. Location was also good, coffeshops were close. I think thats all and it was really good experince for me to stay in there.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Great location; can walk to red light district, central station, and hermitage museum all within 12 minutes! Very clean sheets and bedding! Bathroom was really clean as well! (this is coming from someone who is a clean-freak) You can rent towels and locks which was helpful.

The initial stairs are steep!! But after that everything is okay, you have to pay for locks to go on the lockers (my normal travel lock didn't seem to lock them properly) . Very good location, though all the powerpoints were next to each other by the door which sucked because the person checking out when we came in said they had stuff stolen the night before and we didn't want to risk using it overnight.
