Miguel was very helpful in arranging the van boat van from Arenal to Monteverde. He is very nice, good sense of humor, and even gave me a ride back to the lodge when I happened to see him in his car. Miguel's place is very beautiful and the sounds from the cabin porch in the evening was so peaceful. Miguel has things well organized and the included breakfast is such a nice touch. I really loved the little cabins under the trees. Miguel is a great host!

Miguel and his wife Maria were great! They were very helpful making our plans for seeing Arenal sites and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious. It was nice to have our own cabin for our stay.

Miguel at reception was amazing. He was helpful before we even arrived, answering our emails quickly and helping us prepare for the trip. Once we got there, he told us all the places to go (and which ones to skip) and booked our tours for us on the spot. There was no question he couldn't answer! The hostel is a little secluded, which we enjoyed. It is a long walk or a quick drive into La Fortuna. We had a rental car so it was very accessible to a lot of what La Fortuna/Arenal has to offer.

Best place we stayed at during our trip!!! Miguel was so kind and helpful. Guidance was offered whenever requested. Breakfast was wholesome and fresh. The bathroom was beautiful and the bedroom was a perfect size. Accomodations were more than great. My stay was relaxing and comfortable.

Overall, it was a nice little spot. We had to get a cab back and forth to town which was a pain. Nice rooms and a nice garden area and pool. Lots of bugs in the rooms, but that's just Costa Rica from what I gather.

I was amazed at how cheap this place is for how beautiful, clean, and comfortable it is! It is very safe, guests are free to walk about 2 kilometers down the road in front to the nearest supermarket and soda for dinner. About a kilometer away is the mouth of the hiking route to the top of cerro chato, right next to a great waterfall. The staff was incredibly friendly, and they serve a great breakfast! All in all, I was very impressed.

The hostel has a nice set-up and atmosphere, but the private room we stayed in was pretty dirty and worn down. The bed, itself, had dead bugs and insects on it and it looked like the sheets were not washed in a while. Also, they charge $4 for breakfast. It's a quiet and tranquil place, so if you're looking for something closer to town, this is not it.

Lizards all over the bathroom and ceilings. My traveling companion didn't sleep. The mattress should have been thrown out ages ago. It smelled like someone who hadn't showered in days slept on it during a heat wave and every bodily fluid they contained went into that mattress. I've stayed in dozens of hostels and this was by far the smelliest. It all seemed cute, but totally not worth the money. You also have to pay for breakfast. Also, falling apples all night long on a tin roof. Think about it

Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is served in the garden. Its a 15 min walk to the closest supermarket and probably another 25 into the city centre.

Cute little lodges with good and clean faciltiies. Miguel is a great straight-up guy with good tips on things to do and places to eat. We were the only guests at the time, on the edge of low-high season. Would certainly stay here again. A rental car is véry helpful here since it's a few km's from La Fortuna town center.
