Good atmosphere and lovely staff. A little far from things in town but a 45 min walk to the la fortuna waterfall. Miguel and Marie are very sweet hosts! I would recommend
lovely place! we loved the little cabins and the breakfast. the woman who cooks the breakfast was so nice. great value as the hostels in town are the same price and this was more private and tucked away. you can walk to town in 40 min or take a cheap taxi. also can walk to amazing La Fortuna waterfall in 30 min!
Miguel and Carmen are excellent hosts. I have stayed with them many times and always feel warmly accepted. If you're looking for a little gem off the commercial path, Cerro Chato Exo Lodge is your place. Plus, it leaves you with more money to enjoy the activities. Don't miss out on Carmen's breakfast!

Everyone was so helpful. Truly a beautiful place. Walk to Cerro Chato and La Fortuna to waterfall - it's a beautiful hike and well worth it! Huge thanks to the staff who were incredibly attentive when I was injured.
Wonderful stay here. I and my partner had a private "cabina" surrounded by trees and beautiful bird sounds. A little off the beaten path and a good walking distance from La Fortuna's town center (about 25 minutes). Had iffy water pressure but warm water, delicious home-cooked breakfast, and quiet evenings. Staff were very attentive and fantastic hosts.
