Really loved the place, we felt thoroughly spoilt from the tea to the toilet paper. Phil was a top bloke and went out of his way to accomodate and make us feel at home.
P.S. we stayed in the so called "earwig" room, it was beautiful, not a creepy crawley in sight :)Really loved the place, we felt thoroughly spoilt from the tea to the toilet paper. Phil was a top bloke and went out of his way to accomodate and make us feel at home.

beautiful scenery, except a bit of an excursion to get into Chamonix by bus or train.
A pretty secluded place..a nice destination if you are looking for a quiet time in the alps. beautiful scenery, except a bit of an excursion to get into Chamonix by bus or train.

What a great place to stay. Phil the owner is a top guy and made us feel really welcome. Great views of Mont Blanc from our room. You will need your own transport if you plan to go into Chamonix after 7pm. Great place. Will definitely go back. What a great place to stay. We booked for 4 nights but after 1 we left due to the infestation of earwigs in our room. The owner was genually upset and appologised. We found other accomodation in chamonix and it has definately put me off booking a hostel online again. We booked for 4 nights but after 1 we left due to the infestation of earwigs in our room. We had the best time in Chamonix! Keep in mind that the chalet is pretty far from town, but the price is great and Phil is so helpful! There's a free bus until 7pm too. We had to come in at midnight and he waited up for us, gave us rides sometimes, and woke up early to make breakfast for us before we went paragliding. Wish we could have stayed longer! We had the best time in Chamonix! Keep in mind that the chalet is pretty far from town, but the price is great and Phil is so helpful! The hostel has a very attractive location right under Mont Blanc and its glaciers. It is more peaceful here than in Chamonix town centre. Evening public transport might be a problem for some people - no trains or buses after 19.39 . A plus is that Phil gives his guests a free travel pass for the duration of their stay. The hostel has a very attractive location right under Mont Blanc and its glaciers. It is more peaceful here than in Chamonix town centre. Phil, the manager, was awesome! He cooked us fresh bread with croissants and cereal our first morning, and was really nice about giving us rides into town when we needed them-- the one drawback to this place would be it's a bus ride from Chamonix, and they don't run late. The view of the mountains on the porch is unreal, and the rooms were nice, clean, very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!!Phil, the manager, was awesome!
